Food was good. We took the cabbage soup which was sublime & the meat platter to share. Also good. The meat was slightly overcooked but still really good. The service was really good too. Very attentive staff. We're definitely going back to try out more.

If you are looking for a cosy - almost romantic like atmosphere, warm attentive service (when not overly busy), authentic Portuguese food - This is the right place.
I am going to make this really simple & to the point with regards to their food.
EVERY dish I have eaten over multiple visits has been most enjoyable. Seasoning, portions, texture, doneness - you name it. The only sad part of this place is when you are finished your meal - you actually kinda want to press a magic button to restart the experience & start to eat all over again.
& as with any good Portuguese restaurant, the classic dessert to eat is the Nata... it is simple, delicious & you can not stop at one.
I recently dined at Casa Minhota & had an amazing experience. The place has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, & the staff were incredibly welcoming & attentive. As a Portuguese, I can confidently say the food was authentic & absolutely delicious, bringing me back to the flavors of home. From the perfectly grilled seafood to the rich, flavorful stews, everything was spot-on. If you're looking for a genuine taste of Portugal, I highly recommend Casa Minhota. I'll definitely be back!
A somber reason for having a dinner here. However, the service was rapid, courteous, & efficient. For years I was told there was a man here who shared my first name. I thought I was being put on. Lol, I wasn't. They gave us privacy from the remainder of the restaurant, but they were very attentive. I thank the staff for their service.
This was the first place we ate at. It was late & we were looking for something that wasn’t going to have a wait & be in the area. There are a lot of Portuguese restaurants so thought we should try one out, but this one fell short despite decent reviews. The service was fine, but not super attentive & pretty minimalist except for the server at the end who was nice enough to give an extra free dessert to go.
Food wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either. The mussels tasted fishy & many weren’t opened. The octopus seemed more like a mixed salad with octopus instead of the octopus being the main star of the dish. The seafood plate was basically lobster (which I do appreciate & that was good) with other average seafood around it. They don’t give descriptions so you don’t know what you’re getting on the plate.
The bar area seemed more local & friendly. A decent amount of tables that were close but not too close, atmosphere was fine - not too loud, but felt lively enough. Overall I’d try elsewhere especially with the amount of great food in Montreal.
The food was so good! I ordered the house steak & it was delicious. The ambiance with the music & decorations is very pleasant & the staff was kind & attentive to our needs. Definitely order the natas do céu dessert, it's divine.
