Capisco delivers a delightful Italo-Peruvian fusion that makes bold flavors feel approachable, with standout dishes like ceviche, lasagna, brisket lomosaltado and a variety of shared plates that showcase both traditions. The atmosphere mixes cozy, retro charm with a lively Old Montreal vibe, and the cocktails are frequently praised for creativity and balance. Service is consistently friendly and attentive, guiding guests through a diverse menu and ensuring drinks and courses arrive with care. Portions are generous and the overall value is appreciated, though a few busy nights may bring slower service or signature items being sold out. This combination of inventive cooking, pleasing presentation, and welcoming hospitality tends to leave guests eager to return and explore more of the menu.

We were a group of three couples out for a fun dinner. & Capisco was the perfect place. We had a reservation for 7:30 & only left towards 11:30, the food the service & the ambiance contributed greatly to an evening that flew by! The noise level was very moderate, & the background music was not overwhelming so that we could all converse with ease at our table. Peruvian cuisine is so distinctive in its flavours & colours & all of the courses that we had in the tasting menu/dégustation at the selection of the chef were fantastic! Definitely coming back! Highly recommend!
Came for an early dinner. Had a mix of small plate dishes plus soup & pork sandwich. Just wow. What a pleasant surprise. Top notch whiskey cocktail too.
They call themselves an Italo-Peruvian restaurant but I see a French influence too.
Amazing experience, high quality food full of unique flavors & tasty treats, Peruvian & Italian food is a great fusion, would highly recommend the chicharon sandwich, ouf that's good (sorry no pics, ate it too quick) Tiramisu was huge, rich & delicious.
Really nice food. A little confusing because we don't know much about Peruvian food (however there are Italian dishes too). all the Peruvian food was excellent, fresh & delicious. Halibut ceviche, pork in tuna sauce with truffle peach, seafood paella … all amazing & unique to my palette. .
Can't believe this place isn't packed yet. Amazing food, really lovely service & a nice upscale retro diner vibe inside. The food is truly original & the sauces are incredible. We loved everything we had but the star was their take on a Caprese. Was as good or better than much more expensive places I've been to in other cities with a similar upscale take on Peruvian.
What a unique gem of a restaurant find this is, & in Old Montreal no less. We are definitely in the age of blending cuisines, so Capisco perfectly enhances today's foodie couture with a wonderful Peruvian/ Italian fusion. So creative, so modern.
We were just before the busy crowd, so we were treated to being served by the owner. He told us some fascinating facts about Peruvian cuisine, & described how it can be thoughtfully incorporated into Italian cuisine (& vice versa). Our group shared 5 dishes & every one was so flavourful & beautifully presented. Total wow factor!
I can't wait to try this restaurant again, next time I'm in Montreal.
Thank you! (The Vancouver group)

What a revelation. Don't know where to start here, just sat having a beer, nice weather type of beer.
Madcap wash board buskers set up next door, not my type but well listenable to.
Was going to a hiatian place then decide to look at menue here, saw Peruvian yellow potatoes ther & thought why not.
Well it was a revelation, with prawns & lobster bisque. Expeted the usual, whole potatoes with prawns & a bit of thick bisque.
What turned up - still trying to figure it out - prob nicest well constructed, taste full, balanced - plate of food I have had in a long while.
You have to try it, not costly & the chef has it sorted.
The staff are also amazing.
If it's one thing you do in Montreal, spend some time here.
What a fabulous meal & an outstanding level of service. The Italo-Peruvian fusion is a winner. The Tuna was perfect, the beef brisket so tender. The menu is simple but diverse. Thanks to all the staff for making our wedding meal so memorable 🍾❤?🥂

If your idea of good dining is discovering new flavours & unusual combinations that taste fantastic, go to Capisco. Chef Marcel Larrea had previously given us modern Peruvian Japanese & Chinese treats at his ultra-popular restaurants Tiradito & Chifa (where I always take friends). At Capisco, he delivers his wonderful take on Italian. Don't expect the ordinary. You'll have tons of fun.
Very interesting & delicious peruvian/italian dishes in Montreal! I tried the capelottis of aji de gallina in huancaina sauce, the recommendation of the chef, the arancinis of duck & huancaina sauce, some lucuma ice cream & the classic pisco sour, it does not appear in the menu but just ask in the bar & also a passion fruit pisco sour! Cozy & welcoming environment & attentive staff, totally recommended spot! Just 4 stars because as a peruvian, I like bigger portions of food 😅
Delicious food but the Italian side is more well done than the Peruvian side of the fusion. Carbonara was fantastic. Ceviche was tasty but tiny. I'd skip the Brisket Lomo Saltado.
