We were looking for alternatives to popular Portugese chicken places while visiting Montreal & stumbled into Campo after learning they were at the Timeout Market. The meal was a bit of a disappointment overall. Ribs were dry & sauce was drizzled on. The chicken was just alright, & the potatoes had an earthy taste that I personally do not like. It's alright as a workday lunch, but left slightly disapointed during travels.
The waiting staff was excellent though. Monday evening staff was very hospitable.
$22 for a tiny piece of chicken, a few potatoes & they forgot the salad too, didn't get a chance to go back for it so now it's the tiniest overpriced lunch ever.
Ordered the chicken plater with potatoes & fries. The portions are very good but I expected more flavour. Good quality of ingredients. The ceaser is not good, one of the worst i ever tasted. Maybe i was just unlucky this day. Idk...

The chicken, while fairly good, seemed not as good as Nando's. The cooking left it dry in places. The sides: poutine, salad, & coleslaw were ok, while the Portguese potatoes were quite good. Staff was amiable.
After so much exciting news of this fairly new restaurant I was looking forward to tasting its Portugais chicken. After all, being part of the acclaimed Ferreira Café it should be a slam dunk. Sorry, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences of all time. Ordered 1/4 chicken, potatoes roasted under to dripping fat of the birds, sides of cole slaw & Caesar salad & everything was Terrible. Chicken was dry & stringy, potatoes were hard & had no taste. Salads were an after thought. I was blown away by just how bad this dining experience was. Bye the way, the place was empty & the music was so loud that I could not talk to my guest. Sorry, I don't normally post reviews but Campo is terrible.
Wow wow wow! I seriously can't get enough of their salads, they're absolutely incredible. I always go for the one with sweet potatoes & it never disappoints. The chicken is perfectly juicy & flavourful, I always want to add extra! The dressing has the perfect sweet & tangy balance, & the sweet potatoes are melt-in-your-mouth soft. We also shared a chorizo on the side & it was hands down the best thing ever.
what a lovely atmosphere! My partner & i visited around 7pm on a friday, & there was plenty space to sit! the restaurant seating area is smaller than most restaurants so just be sure to go at a time that isnt too crowded. The servers were very kind to us, refilled our waters, came to check on us. We shared half a chicken ! we chose potatoes & coleslaw & boy oh boy, it did well for the two of us:) The meal balanced itself, the chicken was perfection & flavourful, & the vinegary coleslaw added that missing touch. The potatoes were soft & a little sour, but very much enjoyed. Affordable! 26$ for half the chicken!
The chicken thigh was moist with a slightly crispy skin. The sauce was pretty good as well. The potatoes & natas were ok. The chicken poutine was ok. Not the best I've had in Montreal.
