This is by far my favorite spot in Montreal for coffee or lunch!
The food is amazing & super fresh. My favorite is their canard figue sandwich with the beet salad - I rarely order anything else it's that good! The Portuguese sandwich is super yummy too. Their desserts are insane as well - especially the chocolate chip cookie & the pastel de Nata of course!
The drinks are always perfect - I always get a tea because they serve it in a beautiful pot, or a Chai latte.
The staff is also incredibly attentive & kind, & the ambiance is very warm & fun. Also a great study spot with free wifi.
I could not recommend this place more!View more
Dined here 2 times recently, once for lunch & once for breakfast! Both times had a wonderful experience. The sandwiches are delicious!! The bread so fresh & crispy! Loved the sauce! Very pleased!! The plain omelette was great & came with a side of fresh fruit! Staff were friendly as well. Would recommend!!View more
Best place to get a coffee & lunch in downtown Montreal, service is always good. Can't go wrong !!View more
I was out shopping & decided this looked like a nice place for a light lunch on a hot day. Unfortunately, I felt very unwelcome as a solo diner. Although it was after the noon peak, I was given the worst table right by the door despite others being available, & I felt quite ignored. I noticed that other diners had glasses with ice for their sparkling water while I was just handed a bottle, & beyond being told what table was mine & having someone unceremoniously drop my food on the table, I was largely ignored. I realize it is counter service but I also saw other guests being treated with more care. I ordered a salad trio, which was quite good in the heat when one has little appetite (it was during the heat wave). The food all looked really good, & it is obviously very popular. It would be somewhere I would return to on a future trip to Montréal if I had a more pleasant experience otherwise. 'm not sure if I hit an off day or if staff would be more friendly if I wasn't alone. I make an effort to use my French when possible, so I don't think this was the issue (although the counter staff did switch to English, which is common in Montréal if the person is bilingual). As someone who travels alone frequently, it's frustrating when I encounter this. I enjoy eating nice meals & I often go to quite good restaurants, & my experience is that the best places realize that solo diners are there to appreciate the food. I don't need a fuss at all, but I hate feeling unwelcome because I'm on my own.View more
Cafe that serves lunch sandwiches, omelettes & wine! Great location close to Peel Metro station. I didn't like their seating though, the high tables that are towards the back are really small & unstable. In fact a customer next table accidentally dropped & broke a coffee cup too. The food was okay & the coffee was good. Good variety & options to choose from but place is bit on the pricier side.View more
Every time I'm in Montreal I have to stop at Cafe Vasco. Everything is perfect here, the coffee, the pasteis, breakfast, lunch, all of it. I love this place so much .View more
Been eating at Vasco for years. Our office often uses them as a caterer & the quality is consistently good. Recently ate in for the first time since the pandemic & it was nice to see nothing had changed. Service rolls quickly even at lunch hour & the sandwiches come out perfectly hot. Prices are good for the quality of food. Definitely recommend the lamb & the duck confit sandwiches. The natas are absolutely fabulous & taste as good as in Portugal. Obrigada!View more
C'est devenu très ordinaire cet endroit. Trop cher pour ce qui est offert. & l'ambiance était morte quand j'y suis allée pour le lunch.View more
Authentic Portuguese Euro-feeling bistro-cafe. Great for a business lunch. Small-ish & often bustling. The decor can't be beat: nice tiling, archways, marble counter, mediterranean frescos. Food is quality. The fresh grilled tuna burger is to die for, & the dessert parties are scrumptious.View more
Vasco is the best spot for a light & healthy lunch in downtown Montreal. I have been eating there for many years. With a cozy European atmosphere & excellent customer service, I would recommend to tourists & locals alike. Food is always fresh & there’s a nice variety of salads & sandwiches

Food is very good. However, the place is small & there aren't enough tables at lunch time. Customer service could be better. Not very friendly.
