This place was a 10 of 10!
Beautiful restaurant, with incredible service. & the food was busting with flavorful bites, as your transfixed of the sheer beauty of the colors on your plate. It was out of control, & gluten free friendly. I will definitely tell everyone to come here. ❤?
We tried the lamb shank & fesenjoon at Café Toranj & really enjoyed our meal. The lamb shank was good, tender, & nicely cooked. The highlight for us was the fesenjoon, which was amazing. It had the perfect balance of sweet & sour flavors, rich & comforting, just the way traditional fesenjoon should taste. Overall, a very satisfying experience & a great place for Persian food.
I visited Café Toranj with my mom, & it was our very first experience with Persian cuisine. The food was absolutely exquisite - full of flavor & beautifully presented. The service was outstanding, attentive without being intrusive, & the ambience of the restaurant made the whole evening feel special. I highly recommend Café Toranj & look forward to returning often!
I've been to this café several times, including twice recently - once with my parents about two weeks ago, & the last time by myself when I happened to be passing by. Each visit has been an amazing experience. The food, service, & ambiance are all wonderful. It's the kind of place where you can sit, read, & enjoy the music at your own pace.
Last time, I tried their fesenjoon & it was absolutely delicious. The mirza ghasemi was also excellent. made traditionally with barbecued eggplant, giving it that rich, smoky flavor I love.
The couple who own the café are both incredibly friendly, & their warmth really reminded me of home. I'll definitely be going back!
Absolutely perfect! The food was fresh, delicious, & full of flavor. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, making the whole experience even better. Toranj Restaurant has definitely become one of my favorite places, & I can't wait to come back again. Highly recommended!
Absolutely delicious food! The flavors were rich & authentic, & everything was so fresh. The saffron cake was incredibly moist & full of flavor - paired perfectly with the tea. The service was also wonderful - warm, attentive, & welcoming. Toranj is a great spot for anyone craving quality Persian cuisine. Highly recommend!
Pretty Iranian café. The service was attentive & friendly. I had the hot breakfast #1 & the quantity of food was very generous. It's priced right in my opinion & the flavors were great. Ambiance was decent, Iranian music played in the background. I recommend.
We visited this Iranian brunch spot & had a great experience. The place was cozy & welcoming, & the food was fresh & well-prepared.
We tried two dishes:
Nashtaei 2 - A mix of potato pudding (Do Piazeh), lentil soup, a Persian-style omelette, & pinto beans, served with tea or coffee. Everything was flavorful & comforting.
Nashtaei 3 - A savory plate with sausage & tomato mixture (Bandari), boiled eggs, potato pudding (Do Piazeh), & pinto beans, also paired with tea or coffee.
The service was friendly & excellent, & the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere & cozy ambience.
One thing we missed was the saffron ice cream, but we'll definitely be back to try it.
If you enjoy good food with rich flavors, this place is worth a visit! Highly recommended.
It was my first time trying persian food. What a great discovery. Every dish is an explosion of flavors & the staff is friendly
I recently visited Cafe Toranj with a friend & I had such a fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, I felt like royalty! The atmosphere was warm & inviting, with a cozy vibe that made it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The staff is incredibly friendly & attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed & more! I truly felt catered to!
The food was absolutely delicious, & the Zéphyr dish was a standout! Full of vibrant flavors, fresh ingredients, & perfectly balanced! It was a true delight! Every bite was a treat, & I could tell the dish was made with care & attention to detail. The coffee was also fantastic, rounding off the experience beautifully.
If you want to feel pampered while enjoying amazing food, I highly recommend Cafe Toranj.
I can't wait to return for more of their incredible dishes!
Thank you for such an amazing experience!
🖤✨
Tasty Persian food & generous portions.
I enjoyed the lentils soup & the beef & eggplant stew served with saffron rice.
I do wish they had some sort of appetizers so that we can sample more dishes & flavors.
Seems like all the portions are fairly large.
Service was quick, decor is cute.
My visit to Toranj Café was exceptional. The Persian ambiance, warm hospitality, & stunning presentation made the experience unforgettable. The dishes were not only visually appealing but packed with flavor-standouts included the Fesenjoon with pomegranate & walnut sauce, & the crispy tahdig rice. Every dish was seasoned to perfection & beautifully plated. The staff were attentive & offered great recommendations, making the meal even more enjoyable. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in Montreal, Toranj Café is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Really delicious & simple meals that come out in style. I tried the Gheimeh Nesar Ageau which is a lamb rice plate with middle eastern dried fruits & spices. It was really fresh & tasted homemade. Not too strong of a flavor, it was delicious though. & then i also tried for the first time a saffron decaf latte with soy milk. It was a bit earthier & richer taste them coffee on is own. It just masked all the sweetness & made the coffee taste more mature to my palette. It was really good! This Iranian/Persian cafe is beautifully designed & perfect for hanging out or a date & to have Turkish coffee, tea, share plates & desserts & more. One small note is that there is some cleaning that could be done & service is not so attentive... you will have to get up & ask to be waited on. Also, plates are a bit pricey, but they are filling. My plate could've fed two easily.
like others have mentioned the service is really not good, the worker was not rude at all just very inattentive (we sat outside). We ordered a latte & tea & only the latte came awhile after the food (also extremely tasteless & watery pistachio chai). I cancelled the tea since it seemed like she forgot, also had to go ask for water. But otherwise the terrace was a nice space, & the food made it worth it for me, everything had great flavor! Especially the spicy sausage dish (though not spicy) & small sholeh zard. The bread wasn't my favorite. We got the brunch Nashtaei 2 (they were out of potato pudding so swapped sausage) Overall I was satisfied 🙂↕️ but probably wouldn't be back again
I have never had Persian food before & I'm also picky, so take my review with a grain of salt. I did like the food, it was amazing portions, very fresh & tasted good. I ordered a soup (Ash Reshteh) which wasn't my favorite. I think it was the dill. I also had do piazeh (the potatoes). Those were pretty good. Kind of reminded me in texture of potato salad, but a different taste. I also had gheimeh nesar (saffron rice with beef). This was my favorite of all the dishes. It has a really unique flavor with the chopped berries, pistachios, spices & everything. & the last dish I had was gham-bar polo shirazi which is like meatballs & rice with nuts & a lot of raisins. It's good but very sweet. I didn't expect that. It was my second favorite. It also came with a good portion of fluffy bread which i think was supposed to go with the soup. It also came with (i think) sour cream for the main dishes & a cup of cherry tomatoes, olives & pickles. I don't like sour cream or anything pickled so i can't speak for that, but my husband liked it. All in all, i think it you like Persian food you'd like it a lot. I liked it ok. I did agree with the person who said it's better with salt. Edit: I had some of the leftovers the next day & I liked it even more. It's hard to describe because the flavor combinations are so new to me. I will definitely order it again. It's a very satisfying & yummy meal. P.s. I went back & I ordered a similar rice dish to Gheimeh Nesar called Morasa polo. It's got chicken instead of beef. I LOVED it! I wish ordered more Do piazeh. Everything was just as good & I actually tried the white sauce that I thought was sour cream. It's not sour cream. LOL I don't know what it's called but it's very creamy & mild, not sour or tangy or garlicky. It was really nice & unique. Highly recommend ++++
I ate the lamb neck & fessenjoun & I've previously tried the Revani. The food here is the best I've had in this city in a long time, & I love to eat & eat well. The lamb, especially, was straight from my childhood & the flavor was really beyond description. I ate lunch at the Ritz recently & the food here was light-years ahead of that. It is real home cooking but so refined. My new favorite restaurant & one everyone absolutely must try. I cannot recommend it enough. Also the rice is perfect :)
