I asked for an espresso on ice & the barista made me an iced Americano instead. I think they're intentions were good though, despite modifying my order, but that was a it annoying. I really don't like the brand of coffee they use either, but that's just my personal taste.
Their pastries are incredible though.

A must visit if you're in Montreal. Wild interiors - quite unconventional. Liked the menu with quite a selection. We went for a Cortado, Choco Chai, Chocolate Babka & Vege-Pate Sandwich. Loved the Cortado - probably the best we've had in Montreal. Choco Chai was fine. Chocolate Babka & Vege-Pate Sandwich - loved it. Definitely try.
The staff was nice. Can't say friendly. The guy seemed a bit distracted but hopefully everything was okay.
Interiors are quite busy & a lot to see & notice. They have too many different kinds of seating, so pick your style. There's seating on the floor above as well as outside.
There's street parking outside which might be difficult to find during the day. We went after 10 in the night so a few spots were there.

Voyons le positif tout d'abord. Le café Orr est une sorte de mini institution à Montréal. L'architecture & le décor lumineux y sont merveilleux. Tout a été pensé pour créer un endroit artistique. La nourriture est assez diversifiée & plutôt bonne. Les heures d'ouverture rendent le lieu attrayant.
Mais plusieurs baristas y ont un sérieux problème d'attitude. Elles ne se cachent même pas pour dénigrer ou déblatérer sur les gens. Elles médisent les unes des autres, au sujet du management ou, fait impardonnable, au sujet des clients. Y a qu'à s'asseoir près de l'îlot où elles cuisinent pour les entendre.
Plusieurs des baristas du café vivent une crise d'adolescence qui se prolonge en comportement passif agressif. Dommage. 🤷🏻
I hidden gem on Papineau street. Bohemian nostalgic should I say. Awesome music yet a quiet ambiance ideal for some office work. The Tintin magazine brought back childhood memories. The place sits on two floors & offers a variety of coffees, homemade bakeries plus your usual danishes, hard liquor & even beer on tap. & they also have a full menu with interesting options. The Piano sits halfway up to the mezzanine but I'm not sure if it is played but it's a nice touch. If you happen to be in the area it's worth dropping by.
Super funky & uniquely decorated place! They have two levels & have a little movie area where they were projecting a silent anime movie when I was there. Worth a trip, & I love that they close late!

Staff vraiment sympa, le proprio est présent & très approchable. L'ambiance est divisé avec les sections naturelles du café. Au parterre, feeling plus classique café avec les tables & les places à créer. À l'arrière & au pallier, on peux se laisser plus rêver avec des coins plus intimes pour lire, un endroit propice aux discussions & leur écran géant qui diffuse constamment des films avec leur sous-titrages.
J'adore m'y poser autant pour un moment entre amis que pour y travailler sur mes projets.
Original atmosphere. Ideal for team discussions, or if you don't like to feel alone while working or studying.
Pros:
- Good coffee.
- Tasty (but greasy) food for a fair price (I loved the grilled cheese)
- Free & fast WiFi.
- Electrical outlets available almost everywhere.
- The service is relaxed & pleasant.
Other:
- The atmosphere is particular (concrete, exposed plumbing, intentionally dirty mirror, very busy decoration, etc.). Give it a miss if you need a clean & peaceful environment.
-No direct sunlight coming inside the coffee.
J'ai adoré mon expérience dans ce café ! L'ambiance est super agréable, le service est excellent & le matcha… juste incroyable. Vraiment l'un des meilleurs que j'ai goûtés. Tout est bien pensé, du concept à la qualité des produits. & le détail de la projection de films est vraiment cool, ça ajoute une touche unique ! Je reviendrai sans hésitation à 100 % !
