About

Café ORR focuses on a plant-forward menu that centers on artisanal sandwich preparation and fresh vegetable-based compositions. The kitchen utilizes seasonal produce to construct hearty, layered sandwiches served on house-baked breads that emphasize texture and structural integrity. Vegan options populate the primary offerings, ensuring that diverse dietary preferences remain integrated into every aspect of the culinary design. The space functions as an informal hub characterized by straightforward preparation techniques and a functional layout intended for quick access. Ingredients prioritize local harvest cycles to maintain consistency across the rotating selection of handheld meals. This establishment provides a focused approach to vegetarian fare by stripping away unnecessary complexity in favor of reliable, nutrient-dense preparations that highlight the inherent quality of each raw vegetable component provided within the daily lineup.

Review Summary

Café ORR is widely regarded as a unique and cozy destination in Montreal, appreciated for its artistic, quirky interior and welcoming atmosphere. Many visitors find it to be an ideal spot for working, studying, or relaxing, particularly due to its varied seating options and late-night availability. While opinions on the quality of coffee and food are mixed, with some praising the drinks and pastries as exceptional and others finding them average, the staff is frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, a recurring point of contention is the volume of the music, which some patrons find distracting or overwhelming, occasionally clashing with the café's otherwise calm environment. Despite minor concerns regarding noise levels and occasional ventilation issues, the café remains a popular and character-filled location for both locals and travelers alike.

Completely overrated… ok, I see why it's considered iconic, but it's mostly overpriced food & coffee of dubious quality. The artsy vibe is undoubtedly there, but not enough to make me want to come back :

A truly great find. The inviting vibe & fresh food made for a wonderful meal. I loved the quality of the ingredients & the variety of choices. The service was excellent, & the staff were so helpful. An unforgettable experience that I'll be recommending to all.

Honestly great, the food (try the bagels & toasts) & coffee (try affogato) is quality, & the atmosphere is special. Price is just as high as any other cafe in the city. I wish it was larger, but then it would lose some of its cozyness. I liked the experience.

I have to say that this may be my favourite cafe I have ever been to!! It is perfect in all the ways that matter to me most in a coffee shop. Really good food - I had the avocado toast & my boyfriend got a bagel (the serving size & quality ingredients match the prices - bagel was grilled with lots of cheese & avocado toast had so much avocado & delicious flavours), VERY aesthetic & cozy atmosphere, & good music. Somewhere I could really see myself hanging out/working in often, not to mention the amazing hours that are so hard to find in mtl. Wow! Can't wait to try chilling here in the late evenings! The only thing it's missing is REALLY good quality coffee & well aerated milk (that might depend on the barista & it's good enough for me to come back just wouldn't only come back for the coffee alone).

If you find yourself wandering around Plateau Mont-Royal in Montreal, Cafe Orr is a must-visit! It's got that cozy vibe & the staff are super friendly. Their menu's got a bit of everything - from tasty pastries to hearty sandwiches & salads. Yeah, it might be a tad pricier than some other spots, but the quality totally makes up for it. Plus, they're all about using local ingredients, which is awesome!

The inside doesn't match the outside. It's a crazy , hipster, bohemian café place, whit great service, quality cafe & nice selection of pastries. I tried the cinnamon babka , from Cheskies, a Jewish bakery that specializes on that, & it was amazing.
