A must go- charming little breakfast & lunch place that has what I think is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in Montreal. An excellent balance of rich flavors (caramelized onions, a red pepper aioli, & lots of melty cheese) with bright & fresh pieces of tomato & lettuce. Filling & delicious, without being too heavy! The miso hummus was also amazing, with freshly fried pita chips that came out hot. This place also has so many vegan & vegetarian options that I am hoping to try in the future!
After chatting with the workers, I discovered this place has not been open for too long- shocking, considering how delicious & professional all aspects of Café Marigold are. I wish this place nothing but the best!
Ok I had no idea I'd find this here…I came in thinking I'd get the classic frozen GF bread as a sub in a sandwich (as usual in Montreal), only to be stunned by a ***fresh gluten-free focaccia sandwich*** with the most amazing slowly cooked mushrooms, sun dried tomato, & tofu filling. I'm in heaven. For the celiac crowd, you'll recognize the focaccia, which comes from Cantine Panella. Highest quality in Montreal. But giving credit where it's due, the sandwich & its yummy filling are all thanks to chef Sarah, who owns the place, for what I understood. Plenty of other vegetarian & vegan options too!
The café ambiance is cute & welcoming, & they also have a big, comfy terrasse.
To drink, I had a banana coconut espresso on the side. I've had the fleur d'oranger & the sesame latte before, all of which stand out in the Montreal coffee scene imo.
Thank you, Sarah & staff, for the warm welcome & the amazing service.
Fantastic vibes at Marigold, shout out to the artists & staff who've done such a good job at curating it. Food is tasty, drinks are cold & no nonsense, playlist is good, chef's kiss.
Can recommend the bespoke Marigold Spritz, focaccia, & breakfast sandwich. & of course, the coffee's great.
Also, thanks for giving water to my dog.
Cheers!
We came in hungover & left with stomachs & hearts full. I would've eaten like 3 of those breakfast sandwiches had I let the intrusive thoughts win. My friend got a giant sandwich tho, so I did eat some of that bc it was very generous in size & again I stopped myself from getting more breakfast sandwiches. Also got the hummus, but ate it before I got a photo. The Marigold mimosa was great, & another thing I had to stop from ordering 3 of. 10/10 food & vibes are immaculate.
Café Marigold really makes you feel comfortable & at home from the moment you walk in. The staff are friendly & attentive, & the coffees & drinks are creative & beautifully made! The food is the main thing to talk about here; you can tell that the chef pays close attention to each dish that is served. My favourite is the grilled pear & burrata sandwich, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Lots of gluten free & vegan options as well. The chef even makes a dish inspired by the artist currently displaying their work in the café, which changes seasonally.
A really beautiful & thoughtful convergence of art, food, music & atmosphere. Café Marigold is a special place!
So much love & care. I've tried chef Sarah's smoked soup, gnocchi, sandwiches & focaccia. All outstanding. Good music & chill staff.
Excellent brunch spot with delicious coffee & creative floral dishes that are both unique & mindbending in their presentation & flavour.
I would post pictures, but I cleared the plates faster than they came out.
I do appreciate a restaurant that is accommodating to all food allergies & dietary restrictions. Which this place has plenty of
Easy pick for a cute brunch date or an afternoon work session. Very welcoming atmosphere with local art & cozy jungle like escape.
Suggestion if you're a first timer, the homemade foccacia sandwich 🤌 paired with Saffron Rose Latte 🌸
Had the burrata sandwich... c'était DÉ-LI-CIEUX. Généreuse portion de burrata, champignons à point & la touche de poire, MIAM.
J'ai aussi pris le latté à la lavande & miel, qui était également superbe. Merci!!
Do not try this place… unless you're ready to get addicted.
I walked in to welcoming, joyful staff & grabbed a lavender & honey latte; chef's kiss.
I started with the arancini with mushroom medley. 10/10. Crunchy on the outside, creamy & rich on the inside. The parmesan foam & mushrooms strike the perfect balance between sweet & umami.
Then I got the focaccia sandwich with cold cuts. Another 10/10. It's the closest thing you'll get to a traditional focaccia: cooked to perfection, & every bite somehow gets meatier. & the sauce… if they sold that roasted red pepper aioli in buckets, I'd be asking for barrels.
The décor is cozy, with plants everywhere, warm lighting, & walls full of paintings from artists across the Montreal community.
Would definitely come back, again & again & again!
Keep it up Marigold!
