Really horrible coffee one of the worst I've had! My wife purchased 2 coffees (cappuccino & filtered coffee) with a type of banana pumpkin bread. After we both teied our coffee, we both were like yuk! What a wierd disgusting tasts! We first thought it was the milk that was expired. So I went back to tell the employee the situation! She was sure the milk was good as there hadn't been anyone else who had complained. She was nice enough to make us another one & when she made me try it, I mistakenly said it was better when it wasn't! I knew then that it was their coffee beans that taste weird! Please do not listen to the pisitive reviews. They have 4.9 stars forsure due to the owners friends. Look at the negative ones (the few that are there), you'll see that they also find the coffee to be bad (bitter & weird taste)! I think the people at this café have no clue what good coffee is! Wow! The dessert was okay nothing special, but coffee is really really bad!

I felt that I needed to respond to your response on my critic but truthful review I sent yesterday.
First off, sorry its not to bring down your coffee place (because its actually a nice café with seemingly lovely ambiance). However, I felt it was necessary to warn others about the coffee taste! Again, its not that its about an off taste...its a question of the taste being bitter & bad after taste! I am one of the least picky person when it comes to food & especially coffee...loving almost all coffee's like tim hortons & mcdonalds. But the coffee beans served at your café is really awful! It seems as its not even close to a normal coffee taste! As I first thought it was the milk that was sour, it was clearly your coffee beans! Its forsure your homemade coffee beans right? Which country are they from? The blend of coffee is like I never tried before. My wife was complaining even more than me.
Simply to answer your question about other cafés, if you want to try normal & great coffee, go to Café Milano's, Café Olympico, Clarke's café just a few to name. I'm Italian so I kind of have an idea what good coffee is!
But perhaps certain people like that particular taste of coffee & thats good for your business if thats really the case. & I find it hard to believe that the majority of people who wrote the reviews are indeed'real clients' & NOT friends/relatives! But if you say so..I'm not here to judge but rather give my opinion.
Really loved my afternoon ! perfect for study, space, & good coffee. the music is good & not too loud, the vibe is perfect. was so focused that i've forgot to try their food🤭 the service was nice too !

Les cafés à Montréal sont très populaires, & plus souvent qu'autrement, l'espresso à un arrière goût de grain brûlé. Au Kujira, le café est savoureux, velouté, le tout servi avec sourire & ce, dans une atmosphère accueillante & stylée. En tant que coffee snob bien assumée, je recommande fortement cette destination si vous avez besoin de faire le plein de caféine.
I really wanted to love it but everything they sell is depressing & or disappointing. Their Matcha & london fog is basically just milk, & their coffee is disliked by everyone I know. Their cookies & snacks are also very depressing. Only snacks that are good is maybe? the matcha cookie? & the mushroom shaped chocolate puff & salad. Everything else is bland &/or dry. The space is really pretty though. I really really wonder how this place is still in business.
Edit: sorry to the owner I was quite harsh & the workers are super nice. & I meant the people I know that have tried it.
I recently visited Kurija in Montreal. The atmosphere inside was great & the staff were very friendly. However, the coffee was disappointing. I tried a cortado & a flat white, but the milk foam wasn't balanced & didn't pair well with the beans. Overall, the coffee tasted weak & lacked character. For people who truly enjoy coffee, I wouldn't recommend their beans.
I took a regular coffee. It was cold, bitter & only half a cup as it was the end of the pot. They offered me a refill which was also cold & bitter.
We also took a hot chocolate which was ok. For the prices, I expected better. The service was fine, not great, not bad.
The place is cute & I appreciate the amenities in the bathroom. Would i recommend it, no.
Beautiful coffee shop, with huge windows that bring a lot of natural light inside. The place is spacious, modern, & super clean. Very calm & pleasant atmosphere. & the service was great! We will come back.
First, great service. The two guys served us were super nice. They even gave some treats & water to my dog. The food was also delicious. The croissant avec jambon & fromage was great as well as the coffee & matcha latte
It's such a nice modern & spacious coffee shop. Usually the baristas that take my order don't make conversation with me but this one got to know me a little better which is nice. I feel more of a personal connection & want to keep coming back. I was expecting there to be a more intricate selection of pastries but what I had was very good! Overall, I would definitely keep going back. It is also possible to work there with your laptop!
Been there 2 weeks ago. I'm glad I found this cosy cafe by google reviews. Coffee latte made by barista was on a way higher level than those offered by popular chains & banana bread which was baked by owner's own recipe was well balanced in sweetness & had unique flavor in it that it surely worths a try. I'll get back here when I'll visit Montreal & be in that area. Overall cafe is a nice, clean & quiet place with delicious beverages, wide options in food preferences that offered at reasonable prices. We enjoyed the lunch so much that afterwards ordered a takeout
I had an excellent, pleasantly acidic black coffee that I miss so much in Portugal, paired with a very decent croissant 🥐 jambon fromage. Highly recommended.
I came here based on a recommendation & I was very glad I did. The coffee was easily the best I had during my visit to Montreal; the Italian sandwich & soup were fantastic as well. The atmosphere was warm & relaxed. It's the kind of place where you want to take your time & enjoy the moment. I'll definitely be back.
