Reviews describe Café des Habitudes as a charming vegan cafe located just north of the Mile Ex and Rosemont neighborhoods in Montreal, with a warm inviting space that includes couches, a loft nook, and a small patio; the shoe removal policy adds a homey touch, and the cafe functions as a community hub with events like open mic nights and silent discos, plus a boutique vibe with local art and goods. The atmosphere is repeatedly praised as cozy, welcoming, and family-friendly, making it a good spot to work, read, or spend time with kids and pets. Menu notes highlight vegan options for milk and flavorful pastries, cookies, and drinks, while some reviews mention small portions for the price, occasional underwhelming meals or baked goods, and slower service; sustainability, local sourcing, and a strong sense of community are frequently highlighted as core strengths.
What a sweet & cozy place. Have been wanting to try this for a while.
The vegan grilled cheese was so tasty, service was good, & helpful.
Very spacious, ( despite having a stroller & winter gear!), & a very grass-roots, cozy vibe- lots of fun seating, couches, cushions, window seats, treehouse! & local artist items for sale. Lovely place to hang out with a friend & a baby :)
I'll be back for sure.

We ordered 1 coffee & two lattes, one of the lattes tasted burnt the other one tasted like it had no coffee whatsoever. The coffee itself was so sour i felt like it was made with lemon juice… we needed napkins & they didnt have any. I wont be coming again ever. The only bright side was that it has a decent looking vibe & atmosphere, but the drinks were genuinely just bad.
Café des Habitudes is a super cute & cozy café located just north of Mile Ex & Little Italy Neighborhoods. I first discovered it while searching for caneles, since many reviews praised them as some of the best in Montreal. Ordering online was easy - you can select your pickup date & time - & that's how my partner & I ended up here.
The space itself is inviting & warm. There are plenty of couches, tables, & cozy seating nooks, plus a fun loft/bunk bed setup with cushions where you can climb up, relax, & read or work. There's also a side door that opens onto a small patio with a few outdoor tables, perfect for letting in the breeze on a nice day.
We picked up our caneles, which came in flavors like chocolate peanut butter, pistachio, & raspberry. Each was fresh, rich, & delicious - worth the hype. Service was equally warm & friendly, & the staff spoke English as well, which made ordering easy.
In addition to pastries, the café serves coffee & tea, making it a great spot to study, work, or simply unwind with a good book. For cozy vibes, friendly service, & excellent canele, Café des Habitudes is absolutely worth a visit.
Such a vibe cafe. Lots of spaces & seating styles. They have a small patio, indoor floor pads, sofa, tables, a variety. They also host events like open mic & painting sessions here. I ordered a latte & it was super bitter. I do not like the vegetable milk base they use, it is terrible & needs to be replaced, but service was friendly & nice. Wifi & working or social spot!
A must visit if you're in town. It's a beautiful cafe, with lots of cozy seating options, & the vibe is unparalleled, you instantly feel welcomed, at home, & cozy. Their menu is varied, I got a hojicha cocoa & hazelnut cookie & they were absolutely delish. They also have events, merch, books, toys, you can really feel the love for the community as soon as you step in. It's my new favorite coffee shop 🤍
