Horrible expérience à ce café. Déjà en rentrant, le gérant ou le manager nous fixe bizarrement pour aucune raison. Nous nous sentions pas bienvenus, c'est très grave de se comporter de la sorte avec des clients... à en voir les commentaires nous comprenons mieux pourquoi. Plusieurs clients racisés ont la même expérience...
Le manager ou le propriétaire se comporte mal avec les clients racisés ou portant des signes religieux. Plusieurs personnes ont la même expérience & c'est inadmissible! Leur ancienne page'Café Constance' comporte plusieurs témoignages ... passez votre chemin.

Great & cozy café with a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable. The pistachio tarte is truly outstanding, rich, flavorful, & perfectly balanced in sweetness with a deliciously fresh taste. It's located right in front of the metro, which makes it incredibly convenient, yet it still feels like a hidden gem. A perfect spot to relax & enjoy a high-quality dessert in a welcoming setting.
My friend was at the café & had already ordered food. I went to sit with her, but I am currently fasting for Ramadan, so I am not eating or drinking anything. I was simply keeping her company.
Shortly after I sat down, the manager approached me & asked if I would like to order. I politely explained that I am fasting & therefore would not be ordering anything, but that my friend had already placed an order & I was just sitting with her. He responded rudely, saying that I still needed to order something or I could not remain seated in the café. About 20 minutes later, he approached me again, & I calmly repeated the same explanation. He then returned once more, speaking in a very disrespectful & horrible tone, & told me that if I was not ordering anything, I needed to leave & could sit'outside' instead.
I have never experienced this level of disrespect in a café before. The way I was treated felt humiliating & discriminatory. I am extremely disappointed & disturbed by this behavior & i've heard this manager is known for racial microagressions
I came here with a friend today & unfortunately had one of the worst café experiences I've had in Montreal. I ordered a tea, & my friend was fasting for Ramadan, so we explained that she wouldn't be ordering food or drink until 5pm when her fast broke.
The manager was immediately dismissive & rude. Even though I told him I planned to order more, he insisted on a'20-minute ordering rule' & asked us to leave instead of taking my second order. The café was nearly empty at the time.
The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile &, given the context, personally & culturally disrespectful. It was disappointing & uncomfortable

Incredibly disrespectful manager & horrible experience. I ordered a coffee & sat for under 20 mins before the manager told me I had to order something else if I wanted to stay. When I said that I already got something he told me to go outside because I have to keep ordering if I wanted to stay.
The food is good but nothing worth the prices & the service is awful they HARRASSED us from the moment we stepped into the cafe to the moment we left asking us to order & sit at specific places that were not ideal for studying & leaving MULTIPLE tables empty & cramming students together for potential clients that literally never came we were placed at the random benches outside of the main coffee space that were backless chairs facing a wall. Could've just stayed at my school library if I wanted to depress & pay for overpriced mid food. At least the chairs there would've been cushier. Finally, waiters are French I think you know how rude those come.
La nourriture de déjeuner brunch est bonne, le service très chaleureux & attentif & c'est parfait pour aller manger, prendre un café ou étudier (laptop friendly)!
Très belle adresse côté assiette. Les plats sont soignés, savoureux & bien exécutés : avocado toast parfaitement maîtrisé, pâtisseries fines, café de qualité & jus frais bien équilibrés. On sent une vraie exigence sur les produits & la présentation.
En revanche, l'expérience est nettement ternie par le service : accueil froid, serveurs peu agréables, & remarque insistante sur ce que nous comptions consommer sous prétexte que les tables sont réservées pour le brunch. Cela crée un malaise inutile & casse l'atmosphère.
Une cuisine de qualité qui mérite un accueil à la hauteur.

Honnêtement c'est très petit. Les phots font paraître sa légèrement plus grand mais c'est le genre de place ou tu peux goûter directement dans l'assiette de ton voisin & en apprendre plus sur la thèse qu'il rédigé à 5 cm de toi.
Plus un workplace que une place ou boire un verre ou pour une date.
Nous étions de soir, à l'origine pour manger, mais on a vite changer d'avis, la place ne donné pas envie de manger sur place entre deux PC & note de cours des autres usagé. Sûrement bon, mais c'est pas se que j'attend d'un restaurant/café sur l'heure du souper.
Bref place sympa certainement mais vraiment pas un café restaurant, plus un café qui vend de la bouffe.
Unfortunately, today my friend & I had a very unpleasant experience (12/03).
I was waiting for my friend & I had ordered food & a drink, which I had almost finished by the time she came by. When she sat down, a waiter approached us quickly & told us:'if you don't order something, you need to leave, this is how cafés work'. I was surprised by this & tried to explain that I had ordered something but the waiter insisted since I had finished my food, both of us needed to order something or leave (I still had not finished my drink). My friend & I felt very insulted by his actions & demeaning tone, because we saw other people around us with their laptops & no food/drinks. A lot of the people were there since my arrival, but we were the only ones who were asked to leave.
Out of shame, I felt pressured to buy another drink but left quickly after that.
I feel very sad to write this review, because the café is quite nice & I enjoyed the food, but this kind of service is not acceptable. I hope this does not happen to anyone else, & we will not be coming back.
