As a Peruvian who was born & raised in Peru, I was excited to finally visit Café Chasca after following them online for over a year. I happened to be in the area & made it a point to stop by early one morning.
The café was quiet when I arrived, & the attendant was incredibly kind, polite, & helpful. I especially appreciated being able to speak Spanish with him. The service was warm & welcoming.
The café itself has an interesting & somewhat unusual layout. The upstairs area felt more like a small conference or meeting room than a traditional café space.
I ordered a pan con chicharrón, a black coffee, & alfajores to go. The coffee was excellent, & the alfajores were delicious.
The pan con chicharrón, however, was disappointing from an authenticity standpoint. While it was clearly inspired by the traditional Peruvian sandwich, it differed significantly from what I expected. The sweet potato was not fried, & the classic onion & hierbabuena (spearmint) components were missing. I was hoping for a more authentic representation of the flavors & ingredients that make pan con chicharrón so special.
Overall, I enjoyed the friendly service, excellent coffee, & tasty desserts. I would happily return for those. I only wish the pan con chicharrón had stayed closer to its traditional Peruvian roots.
Dahyanna is just amazing , she made my experience totally different ! She knows the product, she help you choose if you don't know what to take , she's very kind ♥? ( don't come after me if I haven't wrote the name properly 🥹) for the food , I took the'Peruvian chicken style' wrap, felt it was missing flavours a lil , maybe I was expecting too much but she gave hot sauce on the side that made it good ,tomatoes were squishy but nothing disgusting. Overall, I would definitely coming back (if she's here, it's the best!)
Great Peruvian desserts & coffee! Nice spot to grab a coffee & hang out!
I recently visited this cozy Peruvian coffee shop, & I'm beyond impressed! The coffee is absolutely amazing, rich & full of flavor. Their dessert selection is to die for, especially the traditional treats. The savory menu is equally delicious, with a variety of salty options that are just perfect. The customer service is top-notch; the staff is warm, welcoming, & attentive. The beautiful cultural decor makes the atmosphere even more inviting, with authentic Peruvian touches everywhere. Highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing spot with great food & drinks!
Coffee lovers don't sleep on this gem in Laval. No fancy third wave decor or aesthetics which should let you know here it's all about coffee! They do their own import from their Peru farm & roast their coffee on site. This is fresh typical peruvian coffee of great quality. It's an unassuming place with a lot of authentic conversations with the owners who really care about the coffee.
Lovely place to work, study or meet friends over a very delicious speciality coffee & peruvian cuisine goodies 😉
We went to try their peruvian dessert, & they were delicious! The place is cozy & there was plenty of space to sit. My favourite was the suspiro limeno!
Fantastic coffee. Very tasty food. Very warm atmosphere & great service. Very spacious with great authentic Peruvian decor. A delightful ambiance for friends, families & students. All food & coffee is done in house. A unique experience filled with the aromas of South American spirit. Highly recommended
