The food was delicious & offered a variety. Very popular place so it gets busy quick but well worth the wait. Not a big place so it gets packed inside. Staff was very friendly & helpful.
A really interesting tea house.
Loved seeing & hearing the young crowd, seemingly mostly students. Interesting teas & small bites.
This is my go-to café downtown. It does get pretty crowded on the weekends, but for a good reason. Over the last year, I've tried their brunch items, sandwichs, teas, cold drinks, & desserts at this point, & I'd recommend anything on the menu. My personal favorites are the combo breakfast, the sholeh zard, & the London fog.
This was the best London fog I've ever had! The Koukou sandwiches were also very tasty! Definitely stop by if you enjoy tea!
lovely place with a great old-style Persian breakfast serving Persian black tea. the cafe has a great unique design with lots of antiques & symbols of Iran that truly present Iran greatly. Truly recommend this cafe if you like to have an experience of Persian breakfast.
Lovely little cafe with a charming & very cozy atmosphere. It is small & it is not always possible to find a seat. I only had the teas - which were delicious. Next time I will try the food.
I visited Cafe Aunja last month, & it was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly & welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that reminded me of an authentic Iranian café. The quality of the food & drinks was excellent, & the cozy setting made it a perfect spot to relax. It truly feels like a home away from home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable & inviting place to enjoy Persian tea & more!
Beautiful inside. Very cozy & loved the Persian theme. However the drinks were just very "extra" I appreciate anything Rose flavor. It was hard to drink with all the stuff they put in it. It's just not practical ?. Also the flavor wasn't the best either. The mint drink & the rose drink had like a pound of stuff in the hot water so by the time u get to the drink it's already cool. It's better if they could discard it or something rather than have it for aesthetic purposes because it's unnecessary. I've had rose drinks & teas so I know you shouldn't be swallow the roots & leaves while you are drinking it. The desserts were ok. A bit overpowering with the rose essence. Everything smelt & tasted like incense . Could be better . The cafe is an amazing place to hangout . It gets crowded so get the seats early when you can .
Such a colourful & cozy little cafe. Great design & serves amazing food. Their tea is something out of this world. Lots of students from nearby campus.
Very friendly staff & very nice ambiance. I found the Persian fog a bit too sweet, but the combination of pistachio & tea with rose water was really nice!
Aunja, a quaint Iranian restaurant in Montreal, presents an intriguing mix of promising flavors but is unfortunately marred by service & logistical issues. During our recent brunch visit, we ordered an Americana coffee, ginger tea, & a Snowman Kiss. For food, we went with the lentil soup, sausage omelette, & melted cheese omelette. While the food was delicious & rich in flavor, the overall experience left much to be desired. The service & the layout of the place require a major overhaul. Despite reserving a table in advance, we were surprised to learn that we had to pay for our orders upfront before being seated. Worse yet, it took nearly an hour to receive our drinks & an additional hour to finally get our food. There also seemed to be serious operational gaps, with staff frequently stepping out to fetch condiments & supplies from a sister company nearby. This created a disjointed atmosphere, leaving us with the sense that the restaurant was ill-prepared for its customers. All in all, though the food was enjoyable, the long waits & chaotic service took away from the dining experience, leading to a 2 out of 5 stars rating.
The saffron tea is amazing! Cute vibes. Excellent staff. Just all in all good jujus.
Visted as a family of four late morning, found via Google maps on a stroll Montreal. Positioned along a main road, down some stairs - sign posted really well. Iranian tea, lunch, & breakfast options available would highly recommend the breakfast menu available till 2pm. Service was ok, wasn't greated on arrival & found our own table, plenty of space at the back of the place too. Homemade lemonade would highly recommend. The bread tasted really fresh & was great. The sandwiches were really good value for money & really big! Could of shared one between two of us if we weren't really hungry! Omelettes came out in beautifully presented dishes & tasted really good. The decor inside was great- would definitely visit again!
Persian fog tea. Omg. Amazing flavours. The baklava was *amazing*. What a lovely stop after the gallery visit
Love this place! Great food & drinks. Beautiful place to have a tea & a sweet!
Beautiful cafe serving delicious tea & other treats. Lovely ambiance. Highly recommend the saffron & rosewater cake, was so yummy!
Hubby & I visiting Montreal & this cafe is the best one we had here. The ginger tea & London fog are unreal that we came back twice for the drinks & had to have the food! A hidden gem with amazing drinks, food, atmosphere & service. Such friendly, amazing staff too! Highly recommend it! Wish we had a place like this back home ❤️
