Café Alphabet has established itself as a premier destination in Montreal, beloved for its authentic Greek inspired coffee culture and exceptional hospitality. Visitors consistently praise the high quality of their signature Freddo beverages and expertly crafted matcha, noting that the velvety cold foam and rich espresso profiles create a truly standout experience. While the space is frequently busy and vibrant, which can sometimes lead to limited seating and a lively noise level, the welcoming atmosphere and the genuine passion of the owners make it a must visit location. The consistent attention to detail in their roasting process, paired with a stylish, community focused environment, ensures that patrons feel valued, whether they are stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for a comfortable work session.
When you're hyped this much about the matcha, you expect a drink that blows number 2 competition out of the water. This was a solid meh. Had to go to Dalamata next door to clean the palette. & we've had Matcha in Paris, Nice, Toronto & other large cities that is growing behind the matcha trend. We expected much more from Alphabet given the exposure online.
This is a $6.5 matcha at best.
Sorry! I hope you see this as a challenge to do better!
What an incredible place! I truly enjoyed my visit & ended up spending a couple of hours here getting some work done. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food & drinks were outstanding, & it was great to see such a steady flow of happy customers.
I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, & you could immediately tell how much pride he takes in the business-& rightfully so. Everything from the quality of the products to the customer experience has clearly been thought through. They have truly mastered their craft.
If my travels bring me back to the area, this will absolutely be one of my first stops. Highly recommended!
We do not live in Montréal, however either we have family there, or we pass through to visit other family elsewhere. & whenever we are in the area, we make sure we visit Café Alphabet. Not only do we enjoy the superior quality of the food & drink they serve us, the staff themselves are typically delightful individuals who make us feel welcomed & sure that we enjoy our time there. Typically, it's a really fun place to spend some downtime, drink some really good coffee, & taste something delicious. It certainly helps us enjoy each other when it's this good. I recommend checking it out for yourself.
Place is trendy & very busy with people studying--we had to wait for a table to free up. We only came for their matcha freddo, which i already had once before & remembered liking it. This time around, it wasn't amazing & it also costed 8$ for a small cup of matcha with 50% light foam. I didnt find the drink sweet, nor the foam but the matcha was good quality. I guess i'd recommend for you to ask for sweetener in your matcha if u have a sweet tooth.
Visited from Toronto after their viral videos on TikTok, drinks were really good we got two matcha 🍵 , the barista who made the drink was so nice , she let me take a video.
We also chatted with the owner he is super nice give us free sticker as they also celebrated their 3rd anniversary that day.
Must visit if you're in Montreal for the first time.
We came for the coffee & stayed for the smiles! Everyone has such great energy, the coffee is delicious, & the silky foam adds a nice touch. We'll definitely be back! I didn't get the chance to try the other drinks this time, but I'm looking forward to coming back for them.
This is your place if you're craving overpriced ice cubes. I had the matcha latte fredo & between the thick foam & the enormous amount of ice cubes, two sips latter there was nothing left to drink. It was extremely disappointing. I honestly feel ripped off -8 bucks fro what was essentially a cup of frozen water with a splash of matcha.
Honestly one of the best places to grab a drink in the city. The vibe at Cafe Alphabet is super chill & the lighting is perfect if you need to focus on some computer work. I ordered an iced americano & a pastry which were both fresh & delicious. It is clear that the owners put a lot of heart into the design & the menu selection. It is not often you find a business that balances great products with such a genuine friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
