We went during busier hours so the environment was a bit noisy & the line up was longer than usual but our drinks were super delicious! I especially enjoyed watching the drinks made, the staff are very passionate about what they do! 🍵
Visiting from Toronto & the drinks were so good that we finished them within 5 minutes & came back for seconds. Everyone was also really kind!
This is a personal taste rating. I got an iced caramel Freddo latte & unfortunately I had to trash it due to it tasting like straight up syrup with no distinct flavor. However my sister said her regular hot latte was good. I thought the cold foam they put on top would have more flavor but it didn't taste like anything. The Ferrero rocher cookie cup was also good. I'm glad I tried it even if my drink wasn't good. The cashier was also helpful & suggested my sister choose a latte instead of a cappuccino since she wanted a sweeter drink.
Bon, mais café pas sucré! La mousse n'est pas sucré! Vraiment un nuage de lait! Les gens sont super gentil!
Visited from Vancouver last summer; still dreaming about my coffee from Cafe Alphabet. The ambiance, the charm, this cafe is so worth a visit. Also highly recommend their baked goods especially the carrot cake.
Its one of those places I was afraid to test because its « just insta famous », gave it a shot & WOW ! I LOVE the vibe, the matcha is great, the playlist, they make buying matcha an experience & im here for it !!
So hip, with a fun menu, sweet baristas, & the thick cold foam is unique & delicious!
I went to Cafe Alphabet on a chilly spring Friday afternoon with my foodie friend Farzy… one of those in-between days where winter hasn't fully let go, but you're craving outdoor time anyway.
It was my first time there, & it felt weirdly familiar… probably because I've seen soo many viral TikToks of their freddo matchas being made by Montreal's favorite barista Tom.
We both ordered the classic freddo matcha… which just felt right. Cold drink, heated terrace… perfect balance.
Now I will say… if you're not a matcha lover, this might not be for you. It actually tastes like matcha. But if you are, it's really good. Smooth, refreshing, easy to drink… nothing complicated, just done well.
One thing I really appreciated is that they're currently donating $1 from every freddo matcha to the make-a-wish Canada. It's a small detail, but it says a lot. Not just aesthetic… actually community-oriented.
Café Alphabet is connected to Ambros Coffee so everything is roasted locally with a real focus on quality. But what stood out to me even more is the story… it traces back to a Greek family legacy in Mile End going all the way back to the 70s. You can feel that quiet pride in the space. It doesn't try too hard… it just exists with intention.
Very chill vibe. Great playlist. Sweet staff.
I'd come back for another slow moment like this… maybe next time with a book I'll pretend to read but actually just people-watch.
I'm just a foodie who loves exploring my city & sharing my experiences. If you enjoy discovering places like this, come hang out with me on TikTok @foxy.appetite & IG @foxyappetite 🫶
This rainy spring morning felt made for a café visit - soft rain, mild weather, the kind of Montréal morning that invites you to slow down a little. The croissant here was unbelievably good, & you can tell they put real care into their coffee. Everything tasted rich & thoughtfully made.
The café itself is bright & spotless, & the staff are genuinely warm & welcoming. I especially loved the counter area - so many charming little details, playful & beautifully arranged. It was my first time here, but it was easy to fall in love with the place right away. Their matcha is excellent, too.
On a rainy morning like this, a deep, velvety cup of coffee somehow makes everything feel lighter & brighter.
Staff were all very warm & helpful with making our choices. Coffee Freddo was great of course!
Prix assez élevés mais les produits sont incroyablement bon.
L'un des meilleur cappuccino à Montréal.
Tout est excellent mais je trouve que les prix de la food est très cher & surtout il n'est jamais facile de trouver de la place même en semaine !
Love this place, for me is one of the mysteries go places when Im in Montreal
Cozy, warm café in a quaint neighbourhood with a relaxing vibe & super friendly staff. The coffee is made from rich beans, & their Americano is easily one of the best-bold, smooth, & satisfying. A great start to my morning….
Café excellent & personnel super sympathique !
Bel endroit également.
Je recommande sans hésite
I had coffee here a few times. It was a good coffee with some friendly staff.
10$ le matcha qui goute le plus normalement du monde!!!! Par contre un 5 étoile va gars qui le prépare pour son service fabuleux
Went early morning (9am ish) on a sunny Saturday, no wait time, & still lots of seating available inside & outside. I tried the freddo cap, half sweet. It was good, but too sweet for my taste, especially as a first coffee of the day. I'd like to come back to try the freddo matcha. I also had the salty babka (pesto, feta & sun dried tomatoes) & loved it!
