Food was disgusting, drinks were way too pricey for the amount & quality, it was so loud i could barely hear myself think, did not like the atmosphere but at least our waiters were nice & made some good wine recommendations
We stopped in for dinner, without reservations, & were able to get a seat at the bar. The ambiance was great - as another reviewer said, lively but also low-key. We had an assortment of meats, cheeses, & drinks, everything was phenomenal. I still think about the chicken liver mousse, truly decadent.

The service was wonderful. The food was nice but way overpriced for charcuteries & cheeses. The bill go up fast if you want to eat & actually be full. The ambiance with dim light & the decor is nice but it's a bit tight & very loud, we could barely hear ourselves talk.
I would go back but probably at a time when there's less people & only order the day special to stay at a decent price.
Wow. Every dish we ordered was incredible. The star was the bar grille (sea bass). Crispy, delicious skin. Tender & flaky layers melted in your mouth. The beurre blanc sauce was heavenly. We literally were basically drinking the sauce after we finished the fish. Kefta was also so juicy & flavourful but couscous it was served with could have been better seasoned. Accra's were crispy & tasty. Fries were pretty mid, undercooked & over-seasoned (I know how that sounds) but the sauce was good. Drinks were good but very small glasses. Martini was not the best. This was my second visit & both times I left very impressed & would definitely go back again!

Malheureusement, service vraiment bête & impatient. On s'assoit & avons une première serveuse qui vient nous demander si on aimerait commencer avec quelque chose à boire. On a un seul menu, donc on a pas encore eu le temps de le lire. On lui dit qu'on a besoin de quelques minutes & la serveuse semble choquée & part. Une autre serveuse vient nous voir par la suite, & navré de le dire, c'est l'un des services les plus plates que j'ai vu. Pas de eye contact, on la sent impatiente un peu. Ma blonde demande une recommandation sur les cocktails - la serveuse répond vraiment comme si elle n'a pas le goût de nous parler. Elle finit par recommander un bon cocktail, on prend à manger en même temps. Le tout arrive très vite, puis franchement, je trouvais ça expeditif : la première serveuse vient chercher nos assiettes vides aux 2 mins - on n'en a pas! Ça brise vraiment l'ambiance. En fin de compte serveuse #2 nous demande s'il y avait autre chose, je lui demande la facture, je paie, & une autre fois, toujours dismissive, langage corporel repulsé, elle se met à parler à ses amis assis à une autre table & ne nous regarde même pas en prenant la machine. Personnellement j'ai senti un manque de patience & de service assez grave, surtout comparé aux autres restos / bars de Montréal. Je conseillerais à la gestion de mieux former le staff de plancher, car non seulement je ne reviendrai pas, mais je recommanderai fortement d'éviter la buvette chez simone.

We were in Montreal to view the eclipse, see old friends, & generally take in the city's history. Looking for a place to sample some excellent Quebec cheeses & smoked meats served with style & creativity, we read on-line about La Buvette Chez Simone & it seemed like a good place to try. This intimate wine bar did not disappoint, with a menu as varied & eclectic as the clientele. Here, the crowd dictates the mood & the food is the star, with the friendly & knowledgeable wait staff only too eager to assist two anglophones with what might be the best items for them to try. They were correct. Nowhere else could we have had such a delicious & varied assortment of true charcuterie that was likely to be among the best in the city. A full menu of creatively prepared cuisine & desserts round out the offerings. A late night place that takes on a vibrant vibe in the evening when the adults come out to eat & play. Special thanks to Rafael from Marseille who was chatty, helpful & friendly. We'd go back often but we live in West Palm Beach & so will have to be content with the memory of a wonderful meal & evening in Montreal.

Bonne variété de tapas, j'ai pris un tartare de saumon qui était frais & très bon.
Une place idéal pour aller manger & boire entre amis, surtout lorsqu'il fait beau sur la terrasse.
Je compte certainement y retourner!
