Burger de Ville is widely regarded as a standout destination for high-quality, juicy, and flavorful burgers, with many patrons praising the fresh ingredients and the option to have patties cooked exactly to their preference. The menu features generously portioned meals, including notable mentions for their tender baby back ribs, freshly cut fries, and a variety of customizable toppings. While the establishment embraces a simple, old-school diner atmosphere that some find charming and authentic, others suggest that the physical space would benefit from some updates. Most visitors highlight the warm, friendly, and efficient service provided by the staff, which significantly enhances the overall dining experience. Consistently described as one of the best spots in Montreal for a satisfying meal, this local institution remains a highly recommended favorite for those prioritizing great taste and generous hospitality.
Burger was really bad, no flavor, & I have been ordering from them for years, & never had any complains before, but now it's not even the same burger, not the same bun , not the same meat, it was so dry I could not even eat it, I guess it was re-bought by somebody, would never order again
Despite living in Montreal West, this was our family's first visit to Burger de Ville, & we wondered why we waited so long!
Now we completely understand why this local institution has been voted Montreal's Best Hamburger for several consecutive years. It truly deserves the recognition. The burgers are outstanding, with fresh, flavorful patties grilled just right. Every bite was juicy & satisfying, & the fries, made from real, freshly cut potatoes, were the perfect companion.
Don't stop at the burgers, though. The baby back ribs are an absolute must-try. The meat literally falls off the bone, making every bite tender, juicy, & packed with flavor.
While Burger de Ville may not offer a five-star restaurant ambiance, its simple, old-school charm is part of its appeal. What really shines is the quality of the food, the freshness of the ingredients, & the consistently delicious flavors. Add to that the warm, top-notch service from the friendly staff, & you have a dining experience that easily exceeds expectations. Not to mention the food is available at very reasonable prices considering the quality.
As a wonderful surprise, since it was our family's first time dining there, we were treated to a complimentary soup of the day. It was rich, well-balanced, comforting, & a thoughtful gesture that made us feel genuinely welcome.
If you're looking for an authentic Montreal burger experience, Burger de Ville is a place you shouldn't miss. Great food, generous hospitality, & flavors that will keep you coming back.
Highly recommended. Try it now, you'll be glad you did!
I usually love Burger De Ville but today I'm disappointed. I ordered a steak submarine & was delivered a large poutine & I'm not a fan of poutine. Ubereats has refunded my order but I'm still left without supper.
Asked for a medium burger. It was totally dry (zero fat) & way overcooked. No flavor. Fries were burned & dry. Waste of $50 (3 burgers + fries; all burgers were exceedingly dry), very disappointed.
Burger de Ville used to be my favorite spot for burgers, which makes this experience even more disappointing.
The burger was dry & overcooked. I even asked for it to be remade, but unfortunately the replacement wasn't any better. The fries were burnt, greasy, & clearly not fresh.
What made it even more surprising was that there were only three of us in an otherwise empty restaurant, so it wasn't a case of the kitchen being overwhelmed.
It's really sad to see how much the quality has declined. This place used to be a go-to for great burgers, but based on this visit, I won't be rushing back.
