We usually go to the Buffet des Continents in Brossard & have never had an experience anywhere near as bad as the one we had at the Saint-Jérôme location.
We were there for our niece's birthday with a reservation for approximately 30 people. Despite having a reservation for that number, we were given seating for about 20 people, & instead of handling the situation professionally & accommodating our group, the manager made the situation unnecessarily difficult. In our experience, the manager showed very little professionalism or courtesy, & unfortunately, the attitude of the staff was not much better.
The food was not simply disappointing, it was far below mediocre. Almost everything we tried tasted horrible. Many dishes were overcooked, several were so heavily salted that salt was basically the only thing you could taste, & the overall selection was very limited compared with other Buffet des Continents locations we have visited.
Even the fruits was unacceptable. My brother-in-law tried some fruits hoping that at least something fresh would be enjoyable, & some of it tasted rotten. That alone says a lot about the quality we experienced that evening.
The service throughout the meal was equally disappointing. Our empty plates were repeatedly left on the table & were not being cleared. I eventually had to gather the dirty plates myself & stack them at the end of the table just to make it obvious that they needed to be picked up. At a restaurant, customers should not have to do the staff's job simply to have their table cleared.
To make matters even worse, we prepared a small birthday presentation using a slice of cake from the restaurant. My wife arranged it nicely on a plate with two unlit candles so that we could celebrate our niece's birthday together. She stepped away briefly, & during that time a waiter took the untouched cake, with the candles still clearly on it, & threw it in the garbage. There appeared to be absolutely no consideration given to the fact that an untouched piece of cake presented with birthday candles might actually be intended for a birthday celebration.
Overall, the combination of terrible food, poor service, lack of attention, limited selection, & what we experienced as an extremely unprofessional attitude from management made this one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had.
The only good part of the evening was being together with our family to celebrate our niece's birthday.
Do yourself a favor & spare yourself the time, the money, & the disappointment. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding the Saint-Jérôme location altogether. We will never set foot in this location again. If it were up to me, a location operating at this level would not remain open.
We went 2 years ago & the food was fresh & very tasty for the price almost 200$ this time the food wasn't that good, the salmon had a different taste & you can tell problably left overs the sushis again they were very dry, the fried calamari wasn't crunchy but was chewy… for 200$ I would recommand to go elsewhere. They sit us in the middle of the passage when there was other tables on the side lets say it wasn't that bad. Overall probably won't return.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Buffet des Continents with my family, & we can honestly say it offered one of the best sugar shack experiences we've ever had, far beyond what we expected!
What truly sets this place apart is the incredible variety of food. From traditional sugar shack favorites like maple-glazed dishes, baked beans, & tourtière, to a wide range of international options, there's something for everyone. You don't just get a typical cabane à sucre meal, you get a full culinary experience that blends tradition with abundance.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The dessert section alone is worth the visit, so many sweet treats, especially the maple desserts, that perfectly capture the spirit of Quebec.
The atmosphere was warm & inviting, making it perfect for families & gatherings. You can really feel the festive, comforting vibe of a true sugar shack, but with a modern twist & much more to offer.
If you're looking for a sugar shack experience with unmatched variety & quality, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended! I'll absolutely be coming back!

I've been to a few different Buffet des Continents locations, & let me tell you this one did not disappoint!
One tip though: definitely come for dinner. That's when all the extra choices come out. Brunch tends to stay the same every time, so dinner is where you'll get the full experience.
As the name suggests, you'll find a wide variety of dishes from different continents, so there's always something for everyone. & the best part? Once you're done with the mains, you can dive into their dessert section with cakes, fresh fruit, & ice cream. 🍰🍦🍓
Went on weekend for lunch with family. Spread is quite impressive but felt lacking something compared to mandarin. Kids 4 & under are free & you need to pay in advance which I felt weird. Food is fresh & good.
I recently visited this buffet restaurant, & it truly exceeded my expectations. The variety of dishes was outstanding - from fresh salads & perfectly grilled meats to international specialties & decadent desserts, there was something for every taste.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made sure our plates were cleared quickly so we could enjoy the next round without clutter. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, making it perfect for both family gatherings & casual meals with friends.
What impressed me most was the balance between quality & quantity - every dish tasted like it was made with care, not just mass-produced. Definitely a place I'll return to again & again.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves great food in a comfortable setting!
