Avis pour Brochetterie Parthenon Restaurant
Distribution des évaluations
Excellent option for a casual evening BYOB. Freshest ingredients. Great service. It has become our regular weekly place.
Before castigating this review consider I only give 5 stars to the very best of the best & Parthenon is surely a good restaurant. The decor is best described as "funtional" with limited good seating. The food this eveing was average with the calamar being the best choice over the chicken brochette & Pikilia for 2. I was taken back a bit by the flavour ofthe tomato slices in the Pikilia which had flavours from other ingredients or so it felt. The food is abundant the prices are more than reasonable & our server was patient & caring throughout. Great place for a casual meal when you want to feel sated
Brochetterie Parthenon reopened this week after being closed for approximately 4 months because of a fire. Regretfully, this grand old dame of Cote des Neiges, ain't what she used to be. Firstly, the ambiance & décor. The upper riser has been removed & everything is now on one level. Because of the new decor there is a huge change in atmosphere. It is colder - both physically & from an atmospheric perspective. I am not sure why the new manager seems to think that blasting songs in Greek from their newly acquired HDTV is something that most patrons would welcome. It was loud & it was annoying & on several occasions our table, as well as those adjacent to us, requested that the music be turned down. The food: Parthenon what the heck happened???? The chicken stick I ordered tonight was greasy, greasy, greasy, & the accompanying cucumbers & tomatoes that used to be on the plate were no longer part of the equation. Apparently cucumbers & tomatoes in an effort to cut down on expenses, are no longer garnishes of the place. Parthenon was known for quality food at decent prices. Not so much any more. Seems they have cut back on everything, but most especially the quality. The French fries were passable but the challenge of obtaining some ketchup proved to be quite frustrating. I was advised there were now only two ketchup containers in the entire restaurant. The meals that would formerly take less than 10 minutes to arrive at your table, now take 25, & OMG, pretty much smothered in grease. I am not sure if there is a new owner or a new manager but they need to get your act together. We have been patrons there for at least 10 years & never have we felt so disappointed in the ambiance, attitude, food & service. A lady by the name of Michaela who claims to be the owner/manager was on hand, & although we voiced our concerns to her, she so totally did not seem to care.... Brochetterie Parthenon has a long way to go if they want to restore their pre-fire reputation in both food & service. At this rate, Queen Mary location which was for a couple of years the poor brother, now beats the CDN location hand over foot on every single level. The only saving grace to CDN is Adriana & a couple of the loyal service staff.
Retournee 4-5 fois,, toujours bonne nouriture.
This has been one of our extended family hangouts for our regular get-together for the past twenty-or-so years; going there truly feels like eating at home! Nothing overly fancy, unpretentious, but non-the-less terrific. Tzaziki to die for, great eggplant appetizers, delicious souvlakis, tasty Greek chicken...I could go on, but I'm getting hungry! Service is ALWAYS friendly...sure, you have to wait a bit longer when it's busy (never unreasonably long), but that's to be expected relative to any service industry. The value, quality of food & sizeable portions, in a family-friendly BYOB environment, contribute to making Parthenon one of this reviewer's all-time favs!
