We were seated & then ignored for 30 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. They didn't even want to apologize upfront about that. I like slow dining & all but when we did get our bottle of wine it was easily 60 degrees instead of 40. Took them another 30 minutes to get us a bucket of ice to chill the wine. Took them a long time to bring more water to the table each time. Food was good. Just really inexperienced staff.
My evening here was overall a pleasant experience. The servers were nice & welcoming. I had the Freeekeh as an entree, the Yalangi as an appetizer & Halawet el Gebn for dessert. I would say the highlight was the dessert for sure. The freekeh was done well, although you couldn't really taste the stock in the freekeh, something I have pointed out to the staff.
One piece of feedback is that I felt that the staff weren't as attentive, at times I had to wait 5 mins to order something eventhough the restaurant wasn't busy at the time.
For a fine dining establishment, the prices were quite inexpensive. For a 3 course meal + drinks my total was around $80.
Overall, Brocard is an elegant & approachable representation of Syrian food culture.
Small but mighty! Great place, The menu has all you want trust me, taste delicious authentic & friendly service. I didn't take more photos because I was busy eating!
The tamarind drink is d-e-l-i-c-I-o-u-s
The food was amazing! Atmosphere & service were great as well! Definitely will go back again. Don't forget to order the Polo drink!
I'm Lebanese & I can tell you - this is the best new spot in town. Thank you for opening this place & giving us a reason to gather. Special shoutout to the polo drink, the mint lemonade! The shish barak, the fattoush, everything was great.
Stopped by for an impromptu lunch & we were blown away. The service was warm, the food thoughtfully curated & so so delicious - the meats were so tender & flavourful, the shish barak is to die for. We haven't stopped talking about the food. One of their drinks (jallab) & their dessert also became instant favourites.
Highly recommend :)
What a pleasure it was to dine at Brocard on New Year's Eve! It was wonderful to find that the food & service were every bit as good as their numerous 5 star reviews suggested. We received a warm & friendly greeting on arrival & we were immediately shown to our reserved table. Given that it was New Year's Eve, the restaurant was busy throughout our visit. Nevertheless, the service was continuously prompt & delightful. We ordered the yalangi (stuffed grapevine leaves), shish barak (veal dumplings) & batersh (eggplant dip topped with veal in tomato sauce). Each of these mezze were exceptionally tasty. My wife also tried the'Tamer Hindi' (tamarind drink) & it was delightfully refreshing. For our mains we chose the fatet mozat (lamb in a tahini yogurt sauce) & sayadeyeh (fried cod fillet). Both of these dishes were also delicious & generously portioned for the price. We didn't have room for dessert, but look forward to returning to try their dessert as well as many other savoury items. We highly recommend this charming restaurant.
My partner & I came here for our anniversary dinner over the weekend & had a lovely experience. Service was incredibly welcoming. The restaurant is small & not overly packed with tables so it feels intimate.
We got their house wine & Polo drink(I recommend!!), shish barak to start, & each got the shish tawook entree. Everything was delicious. Definitely want to come back to try a variety of their mezzes.
Great little date spot or place for friends & celebrations.
Super sweet lil gem with the most delicious plates! Went here for my anniversary with my boyfriend. The Polo drink is delicious & every dish we ordered was equally tasty. Very courteous staff, cool vibes (old films streaming through a projector on the wall), nice & quiet for an intimate date. I also appreciate they had gender neutral bathrooms.
