Tried this new restaurant this week through Uber Eats.
I ordered the sujuk sandwich, kebab hindi, yalanji, muhammara, & halawet el jibn (total: $78.69).
Overall, it's a good restaurant. The sujuk sandwich came with salad & potatoes. The sandwich itself was small but tasty-the sujuk had good flavor. However, I didn't love the bread; it felt more like a wrap than a traditional Arabic sandwich.
The only item I really disliked was the yalanji. The rice was undercooked & the overall taste reminded me of canned yalanji from Costco or wtv. They don't specify the quantity on Uber Eats, but we received around six pieces.
Before ordering, I noticed some reviews mentioning small portions. Personally, I felt the portions for most items were fair for the price-except for the sujuk sandwich, which was sadly small & not filling at all.
The halawet el jibn was okay; it came with four pieces.
The muhammara & the kebab hindi were good as well.
Overall, it's a decent restaurant, but in my opinion, Fol Fol restaurant is still much better.
Fantastic food, service & atmosphere. Pricing is too low for the quality.
We loved everything! Food tasted amazing. Service was impeccable, the waiter made some really nice suggestions for the dishes, portions were great, we will definitely come back!
Great spot for a date night :)
If you want to feel like you're in the middle east eating a home cooked meal, this is the place. The food is incredible, very nicely presented, the staff genuinely care about their customers' experience. I would suggest you try authentic Syrian food at Brocard!
Les plats sont délicieux, nous avons découvert des saveurs inconnues & exceptionnelles! Les portions sont généreuses & le service attentionné & très rapide. Nous reviendrons!
Beautiful space, love the old school movie posters & Syrian memorabilia. The guys working there are really sweet & helpful. Service was fast, food was quality, even one of our Syrian friends from Hama(important to note) gave her nod of approval. The Fatet Mozat & Batersh were some of my favourite items, special shout out to the kibbeh as well. My only (selfish) note would be to add more ghee to everything, but that's just me. Excited for this places future, a great addition to the Syrian spots in Montreal. Bonus point was seeing a poster of a spring festival from 1937 of my grandmothers hometown.
