duck(36) wine(34) french(30) dessert(28) tasting menu(26) lobster(22) recommend(22) lamb(20) attentive(18)The server was great. The speed of the food was very slow. Meal quality was great & they have an excellent wine selection. The duck & rabbit were both lovely. Again just a long wait between courses.Voir plus
The server was nice, the food was alright but waiting over an hour & a half between each service for the tasting menu made no sense.Voir plus
Delicious restaurant in the heart of old Montreal! They offer excellent wine selection & a great menu choice! They also offer a tasting menu so you get to experience the best dishes of the restaurant (6 service). We tried their special MTLaTable promotion which was a 4 course meal & it was great! It allowed us to discover this restaurant & we would come back again in the future to try out more dishes!Voir plus
Spectacular service & experience. Delicious hidden gem.Voir plus
By far the best place I've ever eaten. It's been two years since my husband & I went for our anniversary & I since dream about this restaurant. The duck with maple syrup is amazing. The napoleon rivals that of any French restaurant. I will count down the days which I can come back. Please never change!Voir plus
Had dinner with friends for our first try in this restaurant, tried the MTL à table menu($80 per person)plus a glass of wine. Here's my opinion for your reference: -Environment: it's ok, nothing too fancy or too bad, overall ambiance is good; -Food taste: in all four courses, only the Phyllo wrapped rabbit confit was delicious, the rest were not up to high-end restaurant standard at all. Ask anyone who studies cuisine or have been to good restaurants: this display(main course) is a disaster! & the taste...frankly I think some supermarket cooked food would taste better than this. Veal flank was too chewy, beef tastes bloody, & the chicken breasts were hard & dry as rock. -Service: they're attentive, appreciate their effort in pouring water or placing utensils for us, but it'd be safer if they tell us before handing the water over shoulders. -Hygiene: I did not like the fact that they're cutting bread in the hallway's counter, without any disinfectant or gloves, they just touch the bread like that after touching dishes & pos machine & god knows where... also I saw a waiter coughed in his sleeve & then continue cutting the bread like it's ok as long as his cough wasn't towards the bread... Overall I DO NOT recommend this restaurant, as their price does not match with their food quality & taste. Time to hire new chefs if this is your standard for $100+ meals.Voir plus
We had a great time at Bonaparte & would definitely visit again! We came for the four course Montreal à Table menu, which was excellent. I tried the pumpkin soup, duck confit, beef cheeks, & chocolate cake. Each dish was well-presented & tasty. The only dish I probably wouldn't order again is the beef cheeks, which I thought was good but not great compared to the others. On the flip side, I'm still thinking about the duck confit 24 hours later. I also got the wine pairing for each course, which was a little ambitious seeing as they were full sized glasses. I was told that the normal menu comes with half-servings though. Our sommelier was knowledgeable & took the time to explain each glass. It made for a very enjoyable experience. Service was 4 stars. It took about 15 minutes for us to get seated & for someone to take our order, though I'll write that off as it being a busy Friday evening. After ordering though, each course & wine pairing came out at a smooth & enjoyable pace. Overall a great experience. I would highly recommend visiting if the menu suits your tastes.Voir plus
Excellent restaurant, very good atmosphere, impeccable service, very knowledgeable & attentive waiters with a great smile! Not noisy at all. Nice white tablecloths, comfortable chairs. The tables are nicely spaced out. Very nice background music. Montreal should have more restaurants like that. The food is excellent. We were 4 people & ordered different choices & they were all great! The dishes decorated with a big taste & with so many details. Rare find. I would recommend it 100%.Voir plus
I was in the mood for classic French food. That was exactly what I got. Oh wow, the food was absolutely amazing. If you don't believe me, look at the photos. The interior decor was comfortable & the service was excellent. It was a Monday evening & not crowded at all. I started with a kir to whet my appetite. Then had the shrimp & scallop harmony which was tasteful & beautiful to look at. Of course I had to go with a traditional duck confit which is my go to favorite. A succulent duck leg cooked so slowly with that moist juicy interior & served with the jus. It came with a few vegetables, more for decoration than taste. For dessert I had a glass of ice perry & the calvados souffle. It was huge but so light & airy, truly a stunning creation. The golden-brown crust was crisp & when I bit into the souffle the apple brandy taste just melted on my tongue. I can't wait to visit again.Voir plus
This had to be one of the BEST dining experiences I have ever had. My husband & I did the tasting menu. We each ordered something different, so in total we both got to try 10 dishes. They were all amazing. I cannot say enough good things about the food, it was next level good! The restaurant itself is beautiful & the service was great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant & encourage everyone to try the tasting menu.Voir plus

Absolutely perfect meal! Split pea soup, green salad & beef bourguignon. The soup was was velvety & creamy, the salad was perfectly chopped, crisp & fresh. & then the beef bourguignon. Small beef medallions over a creamy savory sauce ALL over wonderfully cooked vegetables & spheres of potato purée. Impeccable service. I love this restaurant!Voir plus
Really good food & ambiance. Wait staff extremely attentive.Voir plus
I went there twice in a row. It's an amazing restaurant! A hidden gem if you may. The meat dishes are delicious & tender. The duck breast & the lamb rack are heavenly. I'm going for a third time tomorrow! Oh yes it's not cheap but worth every penny! Same premium service & food as Vegas 5 star hotel restaurants but just half of the price! Worth it!Voir plus
Excellent French cuisine in Montreal. We had a stunning meal, creative & prepared to perfection. The presentation was a visual treat & the flavors were magnificent! Our server was attentive & friendly. All our party left satisfied.Voir plus
