Review Summary

Reviews describe Bombay Mahal as a no frills but flavorful and affordable Indian spot with generous portions and friendly service, where butter chicken, chana masala, palak paneer, lamb curry and freshly baked naan are frequently praised and vegetarian options like thali are a strong value. The staff are repeatedly noted as kind and helpful, and the vibe is generally welcoming with good lunch deals and reliable freshness that makes it a go to for many in Montreal. Some comments highlight standout comfort dishes and quality at reasonable prices, while others mention occasional issues such as dry seekh kebabs, uneven sauces, or small portions on certain plates. Safety and cleanliness concerns surface in a few reviews, along with observations about a busy environment with drivers inside and inconsistencies in menu pricing. Overall, Bombay Mahal is seen as a top Indian option in Montreal by many, offering satisfying meals and generous portions despite occasional hiccups and a casual, busy atmosphere.

UBER EATS portions are ridiculously SMALL. See size comparison with a standard mug. Butter chicken had a few chunks of dry chicken. Flavor ok

Uber eated 2x Butter chicken tali. Butter chicken sauce is too diluded & bland. Naan bread so floppy & dense. Not even an once of spiciness. Not representative of real Indian food & I'm white. Had better elsewhere.

Butter chicken & chili shrimp were amazing, but the naan bread was even better.

We love taking out from here. We have been eating at Bombay Mahal for over 20 years! Love the chana samosa & butter chicken.

Butter chicken was more liquid than soup, small portions. Rice was old & dry. Naan was good. Received 2 orders of fish pakoras with NO sauce. Service not available in French or English. Restaurant was so filthy that any health inspector would shut it down immediately.
