We had a really nice experience tonight at Bocca Di Lupo. The atmosphere & vibe of the restaurant were warm, lively, & just really enjoyable overall.

We shared the calamari, the chicken parmesan, & the gnocchi - which was honestly probably the best gnocchi we've ever had. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, & everything was fresh & really well done.

The staff & team were super accommodating & made us feel very welcome throughout the night. A special thanks to Jamie for coming by the table to introduce himself & chat with us - such a nice personal touch. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food & the overall experience. Definitely a great new restaurant spot in Montreal, & we're looking forward to coming back.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, vibrant, & authentically Italian without trying too hard. The service was flawless, attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely passionate about the food & wine.
Every dish was outstanding. The ingredients were clearly top quality, & the execution was spot on: simple, refined, & full of flavour. You can really feel the regional Italian influence in every plate, with a menu that changes often & keeps things exciting.
The pasta was a highlight...perfectly cooked & beautifully balanced. Pair that with an excellent wine list & thoughtful recommendations from the staff, & the whole experience just comes together seamlessly.
It's rare to find a place that delivers at this level across the board-food, service, atmosphere-all top tier. Easily one of the best Italian meals I've had.
Highly recommend, & I'll definitely be back.

Ambiance:
A beautiful exterior of a corner heritage building with an impressive entry. Sat at the bar which was comfortable & cosy.
Main room seemed lively, with a bright bar area at the front & tables proceeding down the room, flanked by an open kitchen. The two bar seats we had were comfortable & not too cramped, with solid stools but no under counter hangers for bags. Service:
Initially was very friendly with a warm welcome & a laid back approach to get things started. Unfortunately it detiorated from there.
Drinks:
A small selection of specialty cocktails plus an even smaller offering of wines by the glass. I had a 5oz glass of an Italian Chardonnay which cost $19 (bottle retail is under $30). Small wine list - chose an Antinori Chianti Reserve which incurred an acceptable 200% markup.

Food:
Starters were a beef carpaccio, which was small for $28 but exceptional quality & taste.
Beet salad with blood orange & ricotta sounded better than it tasted. The ricotta was piped around the salad & tasted more like a Kraft cream cheese.
Also ordered was home made focaccia which was exceptional with a high quality EVOO liberally poured over top.

Mains:
Not so good. Dishes ordered:
Cappelli with rapini & sausage:
Pasta very al-dente with no spiciness from the sausage. Very bland & stodgy.

Chicken Saltamboca: Chicken was way too thick & tasted like a fried chicken breast wrapped in tasteless prosciutto. The sauce was equally bland with a few sprigs of tasteless sage.

Potatoes: acceptable but boring

Dessert: Not taken

Overall experience:
Started well but deteriorated over the evening with it becoming a really clique atmosphere developing between owners (?) & their friends, which created a non-inclusive environment for the minority at the bar.
Admittedly it's a new venture & will take a lot more staff training, but there needs to be a more overall professional approach to be taken. Less of the'buddy' atmosphere & more attention to creating solid regulars who you'll need to become your bread & butter later on.
Good luck guys - unfortunately we won't be coming back.
