Bistro La Franquette offre une expérience globale chaleureuse et conviviale avec une cuisine française bien exécutée, où des plats comme le hanger steak et les frites ou l'onglet de boeuf sont cuits à la perfection et accompagnés de portions généreuses et d'un vin bien choisi. Une des meilleures expériences de restauration de depuis un certain temps. Après avoir eu beosin d'attendre debout un certain temps parce que la table avant nous avait débordé leur heure de réservation, la maison nous a offert nos premiers verres.
Nous avons reçu ensuite des cadeaux de la cuisine à presque chaque services.
Un service attentionné & courtois, dans les règles de l'art. Définitivement plus que ce dont je m'attendais d'un bistro.
La nourriture était top! Effectivement, le steak frite vaut le détour!
Probablement le meilleur vu le prix sur l'île. Cuisson parfaite, juste ce qu'il faut de mâche & une tendreté idéale, saveur exceptionnelle & les frites...perfection.
Tout le reste était on point, portions généreuses, saveurs élégantes & exécutions au poil.
Niveau ambiance du resto, encore là on s'y sent bien. Cuir, lumière tamisé, musique de bistro un peu étrange & température confortable.
Seul bémol, pas d'espresso!

Quaint spot with a small menu, very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Braised leek with curry & the fried in-house made halloumi was great to start; the mains were well portioned. Perfect for a date night - will return!
Great neighbourhood restaurant, food is always delicious & consistent. Service is good. Vibe is great. Overall, love this place, keep up the great hospitality!

Les plats sont desservis alors que nous n'avons pas avalé la dernière bouchée & se succèdent sans avoir le temps de prendre une gorgée de vin!
Un repas du vendredi soir devrait être relaxant..là au bout de 1h00 top chrono tout était terminè, de l'arrivée au départ.Comment se sentir accueilli comme' un chien dans un jeu de quilles'.Dommage:(
I went with a big group of friends & we all had a fantastic experience. The restaurant atmosphere was intimate & chic. The service was top tier. Everything we ate was delicious & the wine was the perfect compliment. I look forward to going again next time I'm in Montreal!
Bistro La Franquette has a really nice atmosphere - cozy, lively, & a great spot for a night out. The food was excellent. I had the hanger steak with fries & red wine reduction sauce, & it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, & the fries were some of the best I've ever had.
The oyster special is also a must - fresh & a great add-on to the meal.
A couple of small notes: the music could have been a bit louder to really match the energy of the room, & the drink experience wasn't quite at the same level as the food. Our waiter could have taken a bit more time to explain the drink options, & the margarita we ordered wasn't our favourite.
That said, the food & overall vibe more than make up for it, & I would absolutely go back.

Went out as a group of four for a buddy's birthday & we all ended up ordering the same two things the Franquette burger & the hanger steak with fries. Both were excellent. The steak had great flavour & the burgers were spot on. Only note I really wish they would switch the fries over to beef tallow or duck fat instead of that standard canola seed oil. Would take them from good to outstanding.
The French onion soup was tasty but could use a bit more soup & a bit less bread which is an easy fix.
We found a really nice Nebbiolo on the list for 95 dollars & ended up drinking the last two bottles they had. Solid value.
The vibe of the place is great warm lively not pretentious. & our waitress was a character in the best way possible. Anyone who wears shorts when it is 25 degrees outside automatically gets respect. Cool attitude & genuinely good service.
Overall really good spot. I would definitely go back.
Bistro la Franquette is my favourite restaurant in Montreal. The onglet de boeuf is the best steak you'll get in Montreal, much better than any other'fancy' steakhouse. The staff is amazing, & they'll make your experience unforgettable. Couldn't recommend enough!
Franquette quickly became my favourite restaurant when they opened 5 years ago & they still never disappoint. I've never had a bad meal there & everyone I have ever recommended it to has absolutely loved it. My accountant even emailed me mid-meal to thank me for the recommendation because he & his wife were enjoying themselves so much!
The staff are all exceptionally friendly & knowledgeable. The kitchen staff & especially their pastry chef are extremely talented & it's usually hard to pick whether the main meal or the dessert was better (pro tip: never skip dessert here!).
Do yourselves a favour & make a reservation for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed!!
Stopped by this bistro while in Westmount & was so pleasantly surprised with the delicious food, drinks & amazing service. We had the best burger I've ever had in Montreal!!! Tried the cocktail du jour & it was balanced & tasty, & continued with some wine from their impressive wine list. What a hidden gem.
Also.. the decor is beautiful (even the bathrooms!) & it's a perfect space to spend an evening.
Shoutout to Chef Louie & Renée for their hospitality! Can't wait to go back 🤩
