Bistro Có Út is frequently described as a warm, cozy neighborhood spot where authentic Vietnamese flavors meet generous portions and attentive service. Reviewers repeatedly praise fresh, homemade spring rolls and imperial rolls, flavorful pho and well balanced bowls, and a menu that also features popular dishes with a refined touch. The ambiance is often described as calm and intimate with tasteful plants and soft lighting, making it a good setting for casual dinners with friends or a relaxed date night, and the staff are noted for being friendly and patient. Several diners highlight high value for money, with ample portions and reasonable prices, while house made cocktails and a varied menu add extra appeal. A few notes mention slower service or cooler temperatures at peak times, but the overall sentiment centers on satisfying meals, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming dining room. With repeated visits mentioned and dishes singled out as standout choices like spring rolls, pho in a hot stone bowl, and seafood specials, Bistro Có Út emerges as a go to spot for those seeking classic Vietnamese comfort with a refined touch.
First time trying Vietnamese food & I highly recommend this place. Tried Gà Tào (I would say it was mildly spicy), & Ph? Bò Cô Út (for which they bring you the ingredients separately, including the spicy sauce, & then you'll get the stone bowl & you can add whatever you want into the hot soup).

This place continues to be 5 stars - their Japanese style fried shrimp & pho bo are my absolute favourite. On top of that - it's probably fanciest dining room among any Vietnamese restaurant I go to, but for the same good value. There menu is vast & everything I tried was excellent.
This restaurant was so delicious & the atmosphere & service were amazing! Everything we ordered was so fresh & high quality ingredients. The house made cocktails were so good too & very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this for a nice date night or out with friends to relax & enjoy amazing Vietnamese food! Our waiter was exceptional too!
Food was not the most tasty Vietnamese food I had, really blend. We had the Mojito & it was really deceiving. Service was so slow, but they were missing someone as per staff. Really disappointing experience overall. Wouldn't recommand it.
I had a lovely experience at Bistro Co Ut. I really recommend grilled mussels for appetizer if you're a fan of seafood because you'll get a bold kick of flavour that is very unique compared to how seafood is normally served in North America, & the'sizzling' presentation is also eye catching too. For the main dish, I got Com Ga Co Ut (Co Ut Special Chicken with Rice), which wasn't very authentic, however, they managed to make it in a very unique & really tasty way, so definitely recommended if you're looking to try a different type of Vietnamese plate that is not easy to find anywhere else's in the city with the same level of quality.

Vietnamese cuisine is not about beauty look . It doesn't need to be presented in a fancy way, nor does it use too many rare ingredients. It is just simple & natural.
Fresh fine herbs roast beef rolls are very special. It's a bit complicated to eat. You can roll perilla leaves, basil leaves, mint leaves, Vietnamese noodles, pickled radish & beef with lettuce by hand. Dip into Vietnamese fish sauce, & it tastes so delicious. Not all Vietnamese restaurant has it.
Very nice Vietnamese place, I tried the Pho & it was decent nothing special in all honesty. My noodles were fantastic though great flavour & texture. The imperial rolls were delicious & along with the noodles I got a must try. Someone please give me recommendations for new places in Montreal to go visit! Reply to me in the comments…
Also as a local guide I appreciated they had their google review posted & they definitely know that the reviews don't lie🤓

The establishment exudes a quaint charm, with live plants adding a touch of nature to the cozy interior. The meticulous presentation of dishes reflects the care & dedication invested here. Service is exemplary, & a glimpse into the pristine kitchen reveals a commitment to cleanliness. Dishes arrive promptly, with the pho broth standing out-rich in flavor yet devoid of the overuse of MSG, leaving one satisfied without the usual post-meal thirst. The fermented jalapeno slices are a delightful addition, offering a tangy kick. The poke is equally impressive, making this bistro a stellar choice for a date night or a casual meal. A must-visit for those seeking an authentic & thoughtfully crafted Vietnamese dining experience.
This is such a gem in Montreal serving authentic Vietnamese foods! The special pho (pho in stone bowl) - Phở Cô Út - is my favourite. It reminds me of my hometown - Hanoi. My partner ordered Bò Lúc Lắc & it was great too! Love the vibe & service. Highly recommended! 🫶
Coming from Vietnam, my expectations for Vietnamese food are very high. Finding a good bowl of Northern Pho is difficult, but Co Ut did not disappoint. I have to say the broth tastes very authentic. We also ordered imperial rolls, fried chicken, papaya salad, & marinated raw shrimp. All of them taste super good. Definitely will come back whenever I visit Montreal.
My wife & I had great experience here. In a quaint neighborhood near PARC LaFontaine. The food was delicious & added a few twists on some Vietnamese classics. Highly the recommend the chicken satay skewers & clay pot pho. The ambience was relaxed & the space was green & comfortable. There is a reason they have so many 5 star reviews.

The word "Bistro", allegedly, has come in to French language from Russian cossaks who came to Paris as a result of Napoleon's fiasco. & that word means "rapidly" or "fast". This - you cannot apply to Bistro CO UT. & this is my only beef with this place - we waited for almost an hour until our main course arrived. Now, all the rest about this place is, IMHO, very good to excellent, considering the price tag. The place is small - probably will sit 30 ppl at most, clean, comfy chairs, steady tables, spotless bathrooms, feng shui ambiance. Loved the ceiling lights enclosed in bird cages. Loved the picture on the wall I was facing while eating. They have a bar with a wide assortment of beverages. The food, to my taste, was excellent in every aspect - delicious, fresh & healthy - this combination is hard to come by. I had roasted pork with rice vermicelli & vegetables - delightful. I also had a chance to try one of their vegetable rolls - lightest, crunchiest, chewy, mouthwatering snack that came with a cup of sauce that I can only qualify as hot & spicy delight. As a result of this experience, I fell in love with Vietnamese cuisine. Service - outside of somewhat long waiting period - was impeccable. & waiting period, as I was explained by my Vietnamese friends, could be due to the fact that we've been there Tuesday night, when things are generally slow - kitchen is not fully staffed, so one cook does the whole line-up. & that cook sure knows his business well. Highly recommended.
Very hospitable restaurant! Everything that our group ordered was delicious & my husband & I were commenting that it has been a while since we've had a refreshing Vietnamese dining experience in Montreal. They served us a lovely ginger tea at some point.
Food was so so so good. The chicken in peanut sauce with the crispy kale on the side was to die for. The imperial rolls were really big & delicious. Super cute spot, friendly service. Amazing Vietnamese food, reasonably priced. We were too full for dessert but their dessert menu looked elite as well.
Delicious!! Love this place & this neighbourhood. One of my favourite areas to visit in the whole city. Had a wonderful meal here, excellent cocktails, & a refreshing Vietnamese coffee to cap it all off.
