AGAIN! Another birthday, another incredible meal at Bistro Có Út. Fantastic service, fantastic food. Found a great paid lot with lots of spaces just two blocks south. So easy. I can't be much more clear. If you miss this place you are cheating yourself!
This place is fabulous. Been back several times. We sort of stick to the appetizers, soups, etc. they have, simply, the best shrimp spring rolls I've ever had. Very big, & laden with shrimp & vegetables & served with a delicious sauce. The Chickens Satay was so good we ordered one to go after our meal. The imperial rolls, Tom Yum Soup, & sizzling beef were incredible. Quaint little place tastefully decorated & attended by very energetic servers. It's a must when I go to Montreal, several times per year.
We were totally blown away by the special menu - fresh shrimps with wasabi sauce! We loved the sauce so much that we dipped shrimp rolls with it instead of sweet sauce. Pho broth was good & beef was tender. We were happy with the service & ambience too.

The food is delicious!!! I ordered the imperial rolls (which were the first gluten-free ones I've been able to eat) & it was life changing! They were so crispy & delicious. All the food was fresh & the service was great!
Vietnamese cuisine is not about beauty look . It doesn't need to be presented in a fancy way, nor does it use too many rare ingredients. It is just simple & natural.
Fresh fine herbs roast beef rolls are very special. It's a bit complicated to eat. You can roll perilla leaves, basil leaves, mint leaves, Vietnamese noodles, pickled radish & beef with lettuce by hand. Dip into Vietnamese fish sauce, & it tastes so delicious. Not all Vietnamese restaurant has it.
Very nice Vietnamese place, I tried the Pho & it was decent nothing special in all honesty. My noodles were fantastic though great flavour & texture. The imperial rolls were delicious & along with the noodles I got a must try. Someone please give me recommendations for new places in Montreal to go visit! Reply to me in the comments…
Also as a local guide I appreciated they had their google review posted & they definitely know that the reviews don't lie🤓
Cute spot with beautiful plants inside. The fried spring rolls were very delicious as a starter. I ordered a classic rare beef pho & was unfortunately a bit disappointed. I found the broth lacking flavour & quite oily. That being said, it could've been an off day & I'd be willing to try again. On the other hand my boyfriend's chicken vermicelli bowl was very tasty so I would recommend that instead.

Got takeout imperial roll, only half cooked, soggy not crispy. White on one side. Peanut sauce chicken, the crispy spinach was also soggy not crispy. Place looked nice, service was fine. Food could be so much better if properly cooked. Disappointing after reading such good reviews.
Cute restaurant located in the middle of the Plateau. The service was ok, a little slow. The vietname rolls in rice paper were super bland, but the chicken wings & the vermicelli beef bowl were tasty. Overall a small resto, cute decor & good food options, a little pricy, seems family owned.
Bún Thịt Nướng [P13] & fried banana were delicious. Imperial roll add on was great. Avalanche was a great cocktail. Service seemed pretty distracted considering they seemed to have more than enough staff for the few clients present. Once ordered though, things arrive quickly. Decor is cute but those terrible cover songs that they play are the worst

What an awesome find, the food was great, the staff was very helpful, & the ambiance was very cute. To eat we had a papaya salad, spring rolls, pad thai, & a Rice Tofu curry. For the drinks it was the Saigon Mojito & the Citrus Ginger. The Citrus ginger was really great & I would definitely recommend it. Will definitely be back!
Coming from Vietnam, my expectations for Vietnamese food are very high. Finding a good bowl of Northern Pho is difficult, but Co Ut did not disappoint. I have to say the broth tastes very authentic. We also ordered imperial rolls, fried chicken, papaya salad, & marinated raw shrimp. All of them taste super good. Definitely will come back whenever I visit Montreal.
The word "Bistro", allegedly, has come in to French language from Russian cossaks who came to Paris as a result of Napoleon's fiasco. & that word means "rapidly" or "fast". This - you cannot apply to Bistro CO UT. & this is my only beef with this place - we waited for almost an hour until our main course arrived. Now, all the rest about this place is, IMHO, very good to excellent, considering the price tag. The place is small - probably will sit 30 ppl at most, clean, comfy chairs, steady tables, spotless bathrooms, feng shui ambiance. Loved the ceiling lights enclosed in bird cages. Loved the picture on the wall I was facing while eating. They have a bar with a wide assortment of beverages. The food, to my taste, was excellent in every aspect - delicious, fresh & healthy - this combination is hard to come by. I had roasted pork with rice vermicelli & vegetables - delightful. I also had a chance to try one of their vegetable rolls - lightest, crunchiest, chewy, mouthwatering snack that came with a cup of sauce that I can only qualify as hot & spicy delight. As a result of this experience, I fell in love with Vietnamese cuisine. Service - outside of somewhat long waiting period - was impeccable. & waiting period, as I was explained by my Vietnamese friends, could be due to the fact that we've been there Tuesday night, when things are generally slow - kitchen is not fully staffed, so one cook does the whole line-up. & that cook sure knows his business well. Highly recommended.
Ordered the Pho Bò & Tom Yum soup -delicious & scrumptious. Absolutely also loved the fresh spring rolls, especially the dipping sauce. Service was attentive & excellent - all in a beautiful atmosphere. A definite return on our next visit to Montreal.

Food was so so so good. The chicken in peanut sauce with the crispy kale on the side was to die for. The imperial rolls were really big & delicious. Super cute spot, friendly service. Amazing Vietnamese food, reasonably priced. We were too full for dessert but their dessert menu looked elite as well.
I question the 4.7 rating. No where close to warrant such a high rating. It started ok with the soup & spring roll but went downhill on the main grilled plate that became another soup drained in its very blant sauce. Missing taste. Confusion of Service . Very disapimtimg .
Never disappoints. Favourites are the spring rolls, which come in a pretty basket & the Tom Yum, which was fresh & flavourful. Cocktails are also great.
A nice bistro conveniently located on the Plateau Mont-Royal near Parc Lafontaine. Simple decor but warm atmosphere as we walked in. Excellent quality-price ratio. We both loved what we ordered. The presentation is nice & clean, & the taste was really good. The imperial rolls & the spring rolls are a must try type of items from the menu. We will be back to try other items for sure. Definitely worth the detour!
