Ambiance feutrée, excellent choix pour une sortie romantique. J aime bien la salade de roquette comme entrée ainsi que le plat de crevettes fradiavolo comme repas principal. via LibroI view BIS as the #1 Italian restaurant in Montreal. Hadn't been since before Covid however (when I went often). Was somewhat disappointed in yesterday's veal. Didn't approach at all the veal quality to which I had been accustomed at BIS. To me, the veal dishes are the true Quality TEST for an Italian restaurant. Hopefully, this was just an off day.

We are regulars & love the resto .
We had to wait a very long time to ge seated & served which was due to the Madonna concert that night ...,no problem , we understood .
But ....When my husband did not eat his risotto , found it sour ( probably too much lemon ) it really should have been on the house . Or a least a complimentary dessert offered .
Also ,,I shared a plate ... addition 9$ no problem ... but it came on one plate , then after I asked to have it plated , two small appetizer plates arrived & no additional side vegetables . Very unappealing , especially given the 70+$ of the steak . I had to ask for tiny additional serving of vegetables again presented on baby plate. Given our patience , understanding & loyalty to this establishment & their exceptionally busy situation , it should have been appreciation by them & their actions & it certainly was NOT .

Good food at a fair price. Our antipasti & soup were absolutely delightful. My wife had the Sicilian eggplant parmigiano. It was well cooked & a decent portion. I had the veal valdostana. The meat around the left in bone were succulent, but the edges were a little dry. I would have preferred a little more vegetables but the overall portion of the plate was fine. Deseert was equally good.
The ambiance is wonderful; quaint & cozy.
Our waitor & overall service was fantastic. They care about their customers.
I can easily recommend BIS to others & I will return to eat here again.
