I don't even know how to start this review, the food, the service, the atmosphere, the experience?
It was so excellent that I kept thinking about our experiences at Bis during the rest of the day. It was my first time with a friend here, Marcelo, the manager, greeted us & made us feel home, the waitress was so kind & professional, another waiter was so attentive that it made me feel like I am having the meal of my life.
The meat balls were phenomenal, the wine that the manager suggested was exquisite, the warm fresh bread, the olive oil & balsamic were by themselves a tasty meal. The ragù left me speechless, even though I was full, I couldn't stop eating it. My friend got the osso-buck, the meat was so tender that you can mistake for butter, even the bone marrow had an exquisite taste, as to my coteletta, it was perfection… Just perfect, thin enough to feel light & thick enough to enjoy the breaded meet. The endive salad was so tasty that I felt lost & needed a whole afternoon to just enjoy every bite.
Then we had to go all the way & have a full, complete meal. The Limoncello was refreshing, the tiramisu & crème brûlée were to die for, & even the biscotti that is served with the espresso was from another world.
To sum this up, this place to me is the best Italian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure to experience, each individual visiting Montreal like myself should try Bis Ristorante. As for the locals you guys are lucky to have this restaurant in your city.

Memorable Italian meal! Cozy elegant atmosphere. Good variety of wines by the glass if you don't want a whole bottle. We shared a burrata & an arugula salad for the appetizer, then we each had our own pasta dishes. My wife had the linguine vongole & I had the tagliolini lamb ragu. The vongole was generously covered in clams & the ragu had abundant sauce. Both were flavorful & filling. Service was efficient, respectful & not rushed.View more

We had a two night stay in Montreal & selected this restaurant just from finding it walking around the first evening. Food, service & wine were splendid. We loved it so much we decided to go there again the second night (which sometimes ends up disappointing) but it was even better the second time. We had totally different dishes the second night & they were superb. Highly recommend!!!View more

An authentic Italian Bistro. This small restaurant is such a lovely little Italian find! Our hotel, the Ritz, recommended it as a casual & walkable neighborhood restaurant. The food was fabulous & the service was also wonderful. We enjoyed salads, pasta & veal limone with profiteroles for a sweet finish. Cocktails & wine selection also impressive. So fabulous!View more

walked in at 11 pm on F1 weekend & we were greeted with, by far, the best service i've received in montreal. We were a group of 12 people & not a minute went by where we were left unattended by the waiters & the staff. The food was fantastic & so was the wine. I give four only because I was unfortunate to experience some issue with my check.
Staff was very friendly professional served on time. Food was great. I did not pay attention to the bill & paid. There was a bottle of wine included in it which of course I did not order. I guess ms it was my mistake to be negligent. That's ok I consider I paid 50% tip. Keep eye on the bill people make mistakes & go to that place it is good.

via LibroMy family ( party of 6 ) just returned from a 5 day vacation in Montreal & we enjoyed a fantastic meal at Bis. Aldo, the owner, is THE best at making you feel like family. His recommendations were perfect. Melt in your mouth Veal Chop, rib eye steak, pasta bolognese..all were sensational!! The adults enjoyed multiple glasses of wine. The grandkids enjoyed the dessert. We were still talking about last night's dinner this morning. Don't miss this place on your next visit to Montreal! We can't wait to return!!

We loved the charming ambience, a very nice wine selection, & fabulous dishes done authentically. We chose the bolognese which was rich, dark, & fabulous, & the Osso Bucco which was quite literally falling off the bone delicious. Absolutely flawless execution, presentation, & experience.
