Ben & Florentine in Brossard is a solid brunch spot - I stopped in on a Sunday morning after an early flight & was genuinely impressed by how smoothly the whole operation ran. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon were perfectly executed, with a hollandaise that actually had some brightness to it instead of the usual gluey version you find at most chain brunch places. Service was attentive without being hovering, & my server remembered to bring a coffee refill without being asked, which is a small thing I always notice. If you're in the South Shore area & need a reliable, good-quality brunch, this is easily the best option I've come across in this part of the city.
Dear reader, on this Mother's Day my experience was moderately bad, a consequence of the terrible organization on the part of the waiting team, from the organization of the line to enter Until the moment I entered the bathroom (which was very dirty) before leaving, the orders were taken incorrectly & the wait exceeded forty minutes.Sadly, the neighboring tables fared even worse, from what we could see; people who had entered long before us never even saw the aroma of their food. Even though my family had already finished eating, the only good thing was that the price didn't exceed one hundred dollars, so the bad experience didn't reach my wallet.& all this is a consequence of poor organization & staff shortages, I hope the manager will now think twice about rejecting a job application from an immigrant or Quebecer on busy days like these.

Ma copine a pris des oeufs bénédictine, elle a demandé bien cuits & elle a reçu des oeufs vraiment pas cuits. Elle n'a pas pu manger son déjeuner. Le service était long, pourtant le restaurant n'était pas plein du tout. On n'a pas vu la serveuse depuis que nous avons reçu nos assiettes jusqu'à ce que ma famille ait fini de manger. La serveuse lui a dit : « Tu n'as pas mangé ton assiette ? » Elle a répondu : « Non, l'oeuf n'est pas cuit du tout. » Elle a eu un escompte de 1 $, très décevant pour elle. Moi, j'ai pris un smoothie, il était excellent. Bon rapport qualité-prix pour les smoothies.
Great place for brunch, portions are reasonable. Personally I prefer the atmosphere before the renovations, but the new atmosphere isn't bad. It just feels very corporate-ish, not as cozy as it used to be. Service is slightly slow, especially for drink refills (you can see in the picture that our glasses are all empty except one). Menu is a bit too large & daunting.
Food itself is good, benedict is undeniably still their best. I find their skillets a bit underwhelming.

Nous avons commandé un capucinno & un café aux lait pour avoir en bout de ligne un lait au café dilué. Nous demandons un café régulier puisque les autres ne sont pas buvable. En nous apportant nos cafés réguliers, le serveur nous informe que sa supérieure l'avait obligée à faire des cafés spéciales même si la machine expresso ne fonctionnait pas bien. Tout pour faire plus d'argent...pas un bon service à la clientèle !!!
