Review Summary

Beijing Dumpling attracts strong praise for dumplings that are hot and fresh, with many reviewers calling them among the best around and noting juicy soup dumplings, pork and coriander and vegetarian options. The menu is varied and the staff are described as welcoming and attentive, with thoughtful allergy accommodations and quick friendly service even when busy. Dishes such as the hot and sour cucumber salad and fried dumplings are highlighted, as are the reasonable prices and options for dine in or takeout. The interior is described as simple and clean, while the atmosphere is casual and authentic, sometimes described as a safe, reliable choice. A few reviews mention occasional inconsistency, such as dumplings that seem frozen or a quieter dining room, but the overall impression is that Beijing Dumpling offers tasty food, good value, and a dependable dining experience that brings customers back.

No frills. Fresh soup dumplings. No rice which surprised me, but that just meant more room to eat dumplings. I think they make the dumplings to order, so it was a little slow, but I wasn't in a rush. I will be back.

TLDR; Warm & welcoming staff, good, fresh food. Worth the money.

Staff is very welcoming & friendly. They also take in account allergies. I ordered a menu item which the chef chooses a selection for me, the staff asked me if I had allergies to avoid giving me an item that would contain it. They also took in account the fact that I don't like seafood. This place was almost empty, which makes no sense in my opinion. Food is served hot & fresh. It's very good. Unironically some of the best dumplings/bao I've had in my life & I'm not exaggerating.

I ordered takeaway tonight from a spot on St-Denis in Montreal & was pleasantly surprised. I went with the large pork wonton soup (10 dumplings) & the hot & sour cucumber salad - all for $17.22, which I found very reasonable for the area.

The soup was flavorful without being too salty, & the seaweed pieces added a nice touch. The cucumber salad was also fresh & tasty, though personally, I would have preferred a lighter hand on the garlic (you'll see what I mean in the photo).

The interior of the restaurant is simple but clean. It was a quiet Tuesday evening, so the small terrace hadn't been set up, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the service was friendly & quick - always a plus.

freshly made dumplings were tasty. Thank you. I will return with guests.

(suggestion: waterchest in the pork mix would give it an even better texture & taste) :-)
