We were pleased with the food here. The chicken & vegetables were delicious & the portions were large. Ice cave decor was unique. We highly recommend this place for lunch when in Montreal.
Such good food! We had the Behest platter for 4. It was very generous -- we had to bring home leftovers The restaurant didn't scrimp on ingredients. The meat was grilled to perfection, & the rice was tasty.
Also, leave room for dessert. The Baklava Royale is love.
I have been to this restaurant twice, the first time the food was a bit cold but well cooked & delicious. Second time was Yalda night & the restaurant was full so we had to wait along time until we can get in & the entrance was packed. They could simply write down our names & ask us to wait in the car not to be standing in the entrance for a good 20mins & then both kebab & the rice were not well cooked because they were so busy they didn't take the time to cook it well. They just wanted to serve more customers so they sacrificed quality. You should learn that sometimes you should give up on money not to lose your loyal customers. So I will not be going to this place anymore although I love the atmosphere & design.
Okay, Behesht definitely lives up to its name when it comes to the vibe-absolutely stunning! 😍
I walked in & felt like I was transported to Tehran's chicest spot. The handsome manager gave us the warmest welcome.
We ordered the Sultani & koobideh. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender.
Honestly, I was in foodie heaven... until I took a bite of the rice.
Guys, the rice was a tad bit sangi (hard) for my liking. Also, major ouch😢they didn't give us the tahdig!
I specifically asked for that golden crispy bottom, but alas, it never made it to our table. 😭
I know, first world problems but that crunchy layer is the soul of the meal for me!
Despite that little oopsie, the overall experience was so lovely (thanks to the charming staff) that I'm definitely coming back.
Next time, I'm bringing my own tupperware for the tahdig, just in case! See you soon, Behesht. 💋
We had a wonderful experience at Behesht Restaurant. The food was excellent & full of authentic Persian flavours. We tried the Koobideh, Barg, & Joojeh kebabs, & all of them were delicious, tender, & very well prepared.
The appetizers were also fantastic. We especially loved the marinated olives (Zeytoon Parvardeh) & the garlic torshi (Sir Torshi) - both were absolutely delicious.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, & professional, & the service throughout our meal was excellent.
Great Persian food, great service, & a very enjoyable experience. **Definitely a place we would visit again when we are in Montreal. Highly recommended!
'Behesht has a beautiful interior & the dishes look just like the menu photos, but the taste didn't match the presentation. The kebab's meat & rice were just okay, the soup & salad unimpressive, & they didn't serve onions with the kebab. Service felt a bit inattentive too. Overall, the ambiance was nice, but the food & service fell short.'
I was visiting Montreal & had one of the best Persian food experiences I've had in Canada! The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious & high quality, & everything tasted fresh & flavorful.
The staff were incredibly polite & attentive, & our food arrived quickly.
Everything was great from start to finish. Highly recommend!
Stepping into Behesht feels like escaping the neighborhood hustle & walking straight into a cozy, authentic corner of Persia. The space hits you with an immediate sense of warmth brick accents, ornate traditional brassware, & rich textiles setting an inviting, transportive tone before you even take a seat. The irresistible aroma of wood-charred meats, fried mint, & saffron drifting from the kitchen instantly lets you know you're in for a exceptional feast.
?The meal opens brilliantly with Kashk-e Bademjan, a rich, warm eggplant dish slow-cooked until velvety smooth & layered with caramelized onions, garlic, & dried mint. Drizzled with tangy fermented whey (kashk) & crowned with crispy fried onions (piaz dagh), it delivers a deep, smoky-savory punch that demands to be scooped up with fresh flatbread.
?That leads right into the showstopping Persian Kebab Platter, served family-style on a heavy, hammered metal tray.
The charcoal-grilled lineup hits every mark: juicy, hand-formed Kebab Koobideh packed with onion & saffron aromatics; vibrant Joojeh Kebab featuring tender chicken marinated in lemon, yogurt, & saffron; & beautifully charred cuts of Barg beef cooked over open coals for maximum depth. Balanced by blistered fire-roasted tomatoes & sharp pickled red cabbage to cut through the richness, it's a generous, soul-warming meal that fully captures the heart of Persian hospitality.
