What makes this restaurant truly special is the hospitality, it reminded me so much of the kind of warmth & generosity you find in Lebanon. The owners are the heart of this place. From the moment we walked in, they welcomed us with genuine care, big smiles, & an attention to detail that made us feel like honoured guests at the bar. You can tell how much pride they take in both the food & the experience they create.
The food itself was fantastic! Flavourful, fresh, & beautifully prepared. Every bite felt authentic & made with love.
& while the owners set the tone with their incredible hospitality, our server Joya carried it through with attentive & kind service.
It's rare to find a spot where the food & the people running it are equally unforgettable. This is one of those places. Thank you for a great night ❤?
Bayrut is more than just an authentic lebanese restaurant, it is a one-of-a kind dining experience. From the moment you walk-in to this place, you feel warmth & kindness.
They offer you a welcome trio that consists of freshly baked pita, that just came out of the oven. It is accompanied by delicious olives that are directly imported from Lebanon & home-made butter that I have never tasted anything alike previously. Their'Hummus Bayrut' is a must-try, it is very creamy.
It is very evident that the owners of this place worked tirelessly to come up with this gourmet menu. They take care of every detail from the decoration of the place to the food to the music playing in the background.
I am so happy I got to experience Bayrut & I am looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended!
A variety of Mediterranean dishes, only that the taste isn't (lebanese)as the dishes name are.. like fattoush, kafta, batata 7arra...
The place the environment, the staff...are nice
Restaurant à faire absolument, staff incroyablement gentil, une cuisine vraiment délicieuse & une ambiance & un décor magique. Nous reviendrons bientôt !

This review is based on an independent visit, aiming for objectivity. While Bayrut Restaurant serves respectable Middle Eastern cuisine, there are other options in Montreal that offer **greater value & superior flavors** for the price.
The food at Bayrut is decent but not distinctive. The restaurant advertises fresh ingredients, yet only provides lemonade made from imported syrup. Bread servings were notably minimal, which was especially disappointing for dishes like hummus, labneh, brown butter, & kibbeh niyeh-frequently eaten with bread, but here, I resorted to using a fork. Rice portions were also sparse & failed to complement the otherwise tasty kibbeh arnabieh, which was the highlight of the meal. The three types of kibbeh niyeh (walnut, rose petals, pistachios) failed to impress, & the hummus was comparably ordinary.
Overall, Bayrut did not stand out from other Middle Eastern restaurants in Montreal. The experience lacked the transportive aromas, flavors, & hospitality you expect in a standout establishment. Service was satisfactory but showed signs of inexperience, with some staff evidently still undergoing training.
In short, Bayrut felt indistinguishable from several other unremarkable restaurants in Montreal; neither the ambiance, nor the food, nor the generosity made the visit memorable.

Came with a group of around 10 for lunch & had a wonderful meal. We shared a lot of dishes & some highlights were the fresh bread with butter & cheese, the Baba Ganoush, & the Veggie Shish Barak. Service was very friendly & prompt, will definitely be back :)
An unforgettable experience! The food is made with ancient, authentic family recipes that you won't find anywhere else. Every bite feels rich with tradition & absolutely delicious!

I would highly recommend this resto to anyone looking for an awesome Lebanese meal. We pretty much ordered the entire menu, as we were many people & every dish was better than the other. The service was impeccable & the vibe was great on a Friday night. We can't wait to go back, we've discovered a gem in the heart of Griffintown!
Lovely experience in Montreal at Bayrut! The food is really special, not the usual Lebanese you find in most places but authentic yet fine & delicious. Warm & welcoming atmosphere & great drinks selection. A must try ✨
Best place we've eaten at all year! One of the reviews I read said this restaurant deserves to be a Michelin star restaurant, & I agree. Luckily we are in Montreal for a few more days & will be able to return to try out some of the other dishes on the menu. We had the loubieh, the shish barak & the daily special of cabbage stuffed with ground lamb & rice & everything was cooked & seasoned to perfection.
I can't describe how amazing this place is. The hospitality, the care, the food, & most importantly the passion put into this place. Genuinely can't recommend this place enough. Give it a visit (or 10!).
Went to BÁYR?T last night with three friends. Place looks new, full of people, nice decoration, good vibe. Definitely the type of place you take a date so they think you're cooler than you really are.
Joya the waitress… walla this girl is a machine. Alone, running the whole place, & still smiling & joking. You call her once, she's at your table like she's got teleportation powers. Big respect.
The Food:
Fattoush - really good, balanced, fresh, delicious. Portion could be bigger for the price, but honestly no complaints, we enjoyed it.
Hummus - it's hummus. We destroyed the plate.
Malfouf - ya zalameh… wow. Straight up home vibes. Chef, whoever you are, respect. This was the star of the night.
Chich Barak - just'good.' Nothing life-changing, but it did its job.
Ijjeh - crispy, fluffy, & dangerously close to my mom's. If she hears me say that, I'm dead.
Overall: fun vibe, tasty food, drinks needs some work, Joya deserves a raise, & honestly - every Lebanese eating here will say:'teta & mom would clap their hands & then remind you they still make it better.'
Amazing food & atmosphere. So, so happy that we wandered into this restaurant. We are from out of town & really wishing we lived closer so we could visit on a regular basis. The grape leaves are out of this world. Everything was delicious.
A must try in Griffintown area.
Mainly a Lebanese restaurant with a special touch different from the classic ones
They offer you to try olives, kichek akhdar & their special & secret recipe butter.
Awesome with hot bread
Salads:
Tabbouleh Spinach where spinach is mainly replacing the biggest portion of parsley delicious
The Bayrut salad with dried tomatoes & goat cheese is zesty & refreshing
The appetizers:
Hummus Bayrut : awesome creamy hummus with cashew & truffles
Lsanat: langues de boeuf wow smooth & tender
Ras asfour: filet mignon style beef with debes elremmen( sirop de grenadine)
The grilled octopus is soft & tender & melts. We had to order another one
Batata harra is a classic
Sambousek meat & cheese & kibbeh are also good for kids
Tried their brioche chicken with sumac
As main we recommend the Jarret Dagneau & Wine leaves
Jarret Dagneau is tender with tahini sauce & Bourgoul
Dessert the ice cream with Cotton candy & a base layer of knefeh/osmalyeh is a must
Highly recommended
Excellent food, excellent service. Coming from Syrian/Lebanese descent I'm very picky when it comes to this cuisine but this restaurant has done it very well. It's home-cooked style with an elegant twist. The kibbé, cheese sambousek, beef tongue, fattoush were all good & the hummus had truffle oil which made it interesting again, loved it! The rice pudding for dessert was perfectly portioned & just sweet enough. What stood out about the food was that you can taste the heart, love, & pride that goes into making the food for their customers. We came for lunch & we'll be going back again for the dinner menu.
