The BEST Lebanese food in Canada. I have never tried such variety of authentic Lebanese food anywhere else in Canada. Of course there are many good Lebanese fast food chains that are great but Bayrut is such a unique place to actually finally introduce real Lebanese authentic cuisine in Montreal!! BRAVO - please come to Vancouver :-)
I never leave reviews, but if this helps even one person avoid the kind of disappointment I experienced at Bayrut, it'll feel worth the time & money I lost.
To start, the portion sizes are laughably small. If you have even a modest appetite, this isn't the place for you. More importantly, the food itself was extremely underwhelming. It tasted debatably worse than what you'd get from a basic takeout spot, which makes the pricing incredibly hard to justify. You're honestly better off saving your money & going somewhere like Amir if the taste of the food is what you're after.
I ordered the'chef's choice' chicken & rice, & it was easily the most disappointing meal I've ever had. It came with a tiny portion of plain white rice, dry & under-seasoned chicken, & boiled, mushy potatoes-all for a jawdropping $40. I actually laughed when I took my first bite because I couldn't believe this was being presented as a featured dish at that price point.
The appetizers were all the same. The Kibbeh were dry & crumbly, the cheese stuffed phyllo was offensively salty (coming from someone who adores salty food, this was inedible) & the stuffed vine leaves were simply'meh'. If you've ever had the canned ones from Costco, they taste the exact same….
Even if the meal had been FREE, I'd still feel the same way. I don't mind paying for quality, but this felt like a complete mismatch between cost & value.
The one bright spot was our waitress. she was genuinely kind & attentive, & I appreciated her service.
The service was good, but the food really wasn't worth the price. The quality didn't match what we paid, & overall it just wasn't very good. There are definitely other Lebanese restaurants that do it much better for the same price.
Absolument délicieux. Mets libanaise traditionnelles. Même les vins sont libanais. En particulier le vin La Tourba est excellent
Absolutely amazing! My first experience with Lebanese food & I was blown away. We ordered may different dishes so I could try a variety of dishes. Owner was super sweet & gave us free desserts to go!! Cannot rave enough about this spot!!
Nice staffs, loved the fetouch salad, & the beet fennel salad, chicken toast was delicious but super spicy
We had an incredible time at Bayrut. Can you tell from the minute you walk in that the staff here really cares about their food & their guests' experience. We ordered the Fattoush salad, pumpkin kibbeh, & eggplant dip. Everything was 10/10. Vatche was a delight. He mentioned that all the food was baked (not fried), light, & fresh. He was 100% right.
We enjoyed a great dinner at Bayrut. The food was really good, the service was excellent & the ambiance really good as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
