In spices rich & flavors deep,
This Indian gem stirred senses from sleep.
Aromas danced on every plate,
Each bite a journey-truly great.
From buttered naan to biryani's fire,
Each dish fulfilled a heart's desire.
But beyond the feast, what made us stay,
Was service warm that lit the way.
The waitress, kind with knowing smile,
Made every moment feel worthwhile.
With grace she moved, with care she spoke,
Like comfort wrapped in curry's smoke.
So here's our toast, in rhyming cheer-
To food divine & service dear.
A place where hearts & palates meet,
This restaurant's charm is truly sweet.View more
Walking into Bawarchi feels a bit like stepping into a fish market-pun absolutely intended. It's loud, crowded, & the ambience isn't exactly what you'd call refined. But once you get past the chaos, you're in for a treat.
While the North Indian options are limited, everything we ordered was spot-on. The hariyali chicken was packed with flavor, the noodles were surprisingly delicious, & the dal was simple but satisfying. The staff, despite being swamped, remained responsive & efficient.
If you're looking for a calm, quiet dinner-this isn't the place. But if you're okay with a bustling setting & care more about food than aesthetics, Bawarchi delivers where it counts: on the plate.View more
Absolutely incredible Indian food! It was so tasty & you get large portions for your money. I had the Butter Chicken Biryani & it was delicious! My mom loved her Chicken Tikka Masala. We will absolutely be back next time we're in Montreal.View more

We traveled from Vancouver & were looking for a good place to eat when we found Bawarchi. Their regular menu has great options, but we quickly realized that their real specialty is biryani!
We first ordered some naan with spinach, which was fresh & flavorful. But after noticing that almost every table had biryani, we decided to get some packed to go-& we're so glad we did! The biryani was absolutely delicious, perfectly spiced, & had that authentic taste that makes you want to come back for more.
Not only is the food amazing, but it's also very pocket-friendly, making it a must-visit for anyone craving quality Indian cuisine. Highly recommend Bawarchi, especially their famous biryani!View more
Located near my university, this place became our go-to whenever we craved a decent biryani & some beer. Their Karvepakki Chicken Biryani is my favorite-flavorful & satisfying every time. The Chicken 65 is a perfect balance of spice, not too intense but still hits the spot. My Arabic & Canadian friends are big fans too! Proudly Indian, this spot offers authentic flavors that appeal to everyone, & it never disappoints. Definitely a place I always recommend!View more
The best Indian restaurant in downtown in my opinion.
One thing I'd like to share is, the background music was quite loud, & when we requested a volume reduction, the staff seemed to take it negatively rather than considering the customer's comfort. It would be great if such requests were received with understanding rather than defensiveness.View more
The ambiance is warm & inviting, & while the place gets busy during peak hours, the service remains friendly & attentive. Bawarchi Indian Cuisine is a must-visit for Indian food lovers.View more
Great food! Friendly cashier! Recommended by my Indian friend so I believe it is authentic!View more
I am South Indian from Chicago. This is, hands down, the best Indian restaurant in the USA that I've tried! Flavors are perfect. Spice is perfect. INCREDIBLE! I wish our Indian restaurants in Chicago & Devon competed with this!View more
Bawarchi serves incredible Indian cuisine! I tried the Chicken Chili & Special Chicken Biryani-both were bursting with authentic flavors. The Chicken Chili was perfectly spiced, while the Biryani had tender chicken & aromatic rice. Generous portions & excellent service make it a must-visit for Indian food lovers.View more

If only there is a way to give more stars. Absolutely amazing Indian food. Especially the biryanis. I can't believe any place can even have that much of options, just for the biryani. Some of them, just hits the spot, some of biryani options, you need to make sure you know what you are getting into before diving in. But overall, extremely addictive place. Mouth watering taste, & fantastic experience. Highly recommend!View more

You can update the review to include a mention of Dhruv's service: Bavarchi Restaurant Review I recently visited Bavarchi Restaurant & had a fantastic experience. The ambiance is warm & welcoming, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining & family gatherings. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, especially if you're a fan of Indian cuisine. I tried their biryani, & it was flavorful, perfectly spiced, & generously portioned. The naan was fresh & fluffy, complementing the curries well. A special mention to Dhruv bhai, who provided excellent service. He was attentive, friendly, & made sure everything was perfect during our visit. His recommendations were spot on, & he made the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for an authentic & satisfying meal in a comfortable setting, Bavarchi is definitely worth a visit!View more
Very delicious food. Best Indian food in Montreal. Service is perfect too!View more
If I could eat here every day, I would. Their shrimp biryani is one of the hardest dishes to find in any Indian restaurant, & these guys nail it! Great selection, amazing service (people who work there know the dishes & spice levels, & can recommend something that works for you).View more
The bawarchi chicken Biryani was very delicious & very tasty recommend to go with family & friends , nice service & good food available, South indian restaurant in montreal. Tried mago lasssi very nice & sweet . Had a good food. & enjoyed a lot in hereView more
Disappointing! My family felt sick after eating here even though we don't have sensitive stomachs & are used to eating out in India. The food wasn't even tasty. It was just heavy & spicy. Also it seemed like a south Indian person was cooking north Indian dishes - the aloo tikki chaat had kadi patta & elaichi! The mutton biryani & palak paneer were equally disappointing. The service was good but the food is SO NOT WORTH IT.View more
We tried Guntur chicken & Green chilli dum Biryani from this place during our visit recently to Montreal. I must say that the food was great. We recommend everyone to try this Indian cuisine if you are in Montréal.View more
My husband & I came here for dinner tonight. We ordered the Samosa Chaat, Ghee Roast Kaju Shrimp Biryani, & two veg samosas. The spices complimented the flavours of the dishes well. The Samosa Chaat was quite different from ones I've had at other local restaurants, but their combination of spices added an authentic taste. The atmosphere was nice - we enjoyed the music! One thing we both really appreciated about this restaurant was the menu. They had separates pages for the meat dishes, seafood dishes, & vegetarian dishes, making it easy for people with different dietary restrictions to navigate. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are two Indian restaurants in the area where we eat often & have a strong preference for their Thalis & Chaats. But we would eat here again, & recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat near Saint-Catherine.View more
