Second time.
Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar
So, this is the second time I visited Baton Rouge Restaurant at Complex Desjardins as per the
Owner's suggestion. From Owner,'We hope to see you soon so that we can serve you better.'
I was with my husband & it was his first time back since the closure.
We sat in the Bar area at a booth. I hate to say it but again it took a little while for of us to get our drinks & then our food but we enjoyed our drinks while we waited.
We did not get an entrée & we both ordered Rib Steaks. He requested his steak be well done & burnt to a crisp & I requested mine medium well. Then we both ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. We also ordered one Skillet Mushrooms & one Signature Peppercorn Sauce.
Then came the food & just by looking at his steak we could tell that it was not well & as he cut into it, there was some pink. Then I cut into mine & it looked even pinker than his.
I made the suggestion to him that he should send it back & he said he would see if other parts of it was cooked better. Well, I sent mine back & it took a while he was finished his Garlic Mashed by the time I got my steak back. He said his steak upon examination was not better when he cut into it elsewhere. So again, I made the suggestion he should send it back but he refused on the grounds that it took me so long to get mine back.
I had eaten my vegetables & set up my bake potato because I had the toppings on the side when I decided to send my steak back.
When my plate came back to the table I had more vegetables, a fully loaded baked potato & I don't know how but an even rarer steak than before. The only way I think that could have happened is they cooked me another steak. Cutting into it there was blood on the plate. Also, the fact that I got a fully loaded baked potato shows that the kitchen staff did not pay attention to the original order.
I have question: How is a pepper corn sauce salty as it is made with pepper ? The Signature Peppercorn Sauce was really salty. Just another issue.
We were both so upset & disappointed. It ruined our celebration & a night out. We did not order dessert & wanted to leave as soon as we could.
We will think hard about going back to this restaurant again. This was strike two.
Oh, so I did take the Owner's suggestion & try the restaurant again but to no avail it was worse than the first time.

Nous avons bien mangé, les ribs étaient très bons & se détachaient facilement. Juste à côté de l'hôtel, parfait pour un dernier soir à Montréal.Voir plus
Excellent service avant un bon spectacle à la place des arts. Zoé, la jeune femme qui nous a servi, est très sympathique, professionnelle, courtoise & soucieuse de notre satisfaction.

Un bon endroit pour déguster une bière ou deux & casser la croûte. J'étais avec des amis sur leur terrasse. Parfait par une belle journée d'été & regarder l'activité se dérouler tout autour. Je ne crois pas qu'on puisse simplement prendre une bière sur leur terrasse. Lorsque j'y suis allé, il avait une obligation de prendre un repas principal. Bon à savoir.Voir plus

Cela fait plusieurs fois que nous venons à Montréal & nous ne pouvons pas passer à côté des côtes levées de Bâton Rouge .
Service agréable , rapide & très souriant de Zoé ... cette équipe est manifestement très bien menée par le manager Simon , qui n'a pas hésité à nous gratifier d'un petit cadeau très apprécié lors de notre venue .
Nous reviendrons , sans aucun doute , encore & encore .
