Once in awhile you find a special place that exceeds every possible expectation. Barranco is one of those restaurants! The staff was outstanding; friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. The atmosphere was lively with creative lighting design & hip "beat"music just loud enough to enough but not enough to overpower. The best part however, was the food. We ordered 4 of the Tapas for the 2 of us. This was one of the most outstanding & memorable meals we have ever had. The presentation of each dish was exquisite. The flavors were bright, inspired & innovative. We had seafood & meat & everything was cooked to perfection. I not only recommend this restaurant but will go as far to say this is a must if you visit Montreal. I am already looking forward to our next visit!
But 4 stars & not 5 because the place is very noisy. Please tune down your music. This is not a club. It is a restaurant. Many people complain for the level of sound that is distracting & annoying. It is impossible to talk to friends when you come as a group.

Amazing place.
Food was great, presentation was on point, place's music was nice...
We went for Valentine's Day, which was quite obviously a tough evening for the staff but they had a special menu for the day & we enjoyed it thoroughly
Food is delicious & exquisite! The presentation is over the top & the music creates the best ambiance to have a couple of drinks & enjoy the creations of the chef!
The food is amazing, ceviche & pulpo are a must. I'm a big fan of the Pisco Sour Clásico. Sometimes I find the music a bit too loud but it just means I'm getting old. I've been there several times & will continue to go back.
The food was absolutely delicious & the service was good. The reason I give this only 3 stars is that the music was so loud that I could not have a conversation with my friend without yelling for 2 hours while everyone around is also yelling at each other because they can't hear each other either. I would not come back for this reason & it's sad because the food was excellent.
I love this place. I am Peruvian & I loved the ambiance & the food was amazing. Cocktails & music were super good too. Great restaurant all around. If you come here you will eat very well!
Amazing food, great staff, tasty cocktails but major no no is extremely loud music. Cannot talk at all. Had headache as had to shout in order to have a conversation. Very unfortunate as otherwise would have given them 5 stars
It was splendid. Everything was top-notch, the food, the drinks, the music, & the vibe. The staff was super friendly, ++ they also spoke Spanish. First time trying pisco, & I loved it!
Great service, great food, & great choice in music. The staff was very friendly & made sure we had everything we needed. Everything we ate was wonderful: the burgers & potatoes are some of the best in the area hands down, & the sodas & cocktails were delicious. This is my second time coming to this restaurant, & I look forward to coming back again. Thank you Barranco for the wonderful evening!

My favorite restaurant in Montreal right now. Amazing food, drinks, service, decor, vibes, location, music, & staff. Can't say enough good things about barranco. My wife & I come here once a month at minimum
The food was absolutely amazing & presented beautifully; kudos to the incredible team in the kitchen who prepared the meals. The staff were friendly & accommodating, & the ambience of the venue offered a casual dining experience but with a hint of flare through the music. Certainly a great date night spot for good food & drinks with a creative twist on contemporary North American food fare.
Outstanding place to visit. The location & opening hours are convenient. The staff is very approachable. The food quality is unbelievable, especially the freshness of the products. The alcohol variety is impressive. The music & decoration very welcoming. Will definitely come back very soon.
This was our second visit to Barranco. The first time, we loved it, this second time, we liked it a lot. We love the decor & the service is fantastic. They make a great Pisco Sour, though this time it was made with tequila because of the shortages at the SAQ. Not the restaurant's fault, & the tequila was a good substitute. The food was great, though we found the potatoes on the dry side this time. Also, I'm a vegetarian & I find the veggie options could be more interesting & creative. Beyond Meat is fine, but how about a vegetarian causa on the menu? Or the veggie salchipapas being made with a vegan sausage instead of Beyond burger meat? Also, the first time we went there was great salsa music playing, which really added to the vibe. This time we went later in the evening & it was very loud, beat-heavy club music. Added a party feel, but it was hard to talk over the music (even my teen/young adult kids thought so) & it lacked the Latin vibe we so loved on our first visit.
