Barranco is a modern Peruvian cuisine restaurant located in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal on Saint-Denis Street. It offers authentic flavors thanks to several products imported directly from Peru.
Barranco MTL delivers a lively Peruvian dining experience with fresh ceviche, octopus and seafood rice that feel authentic yet vibrant in a Montreal setting. The menu balances traditional and fusion twists, while cocktails and nonalcoholic options impress with creativity and balance. The service and atmosphere are consistently praised, offering attentive hospitality, a warm, festive vibe, and a welcoming terrace that suits celebrations or casual nights out. Generous portions and a memorable dessert finish make the visit feel like a feast of textures, colors, and bright Peruvian flavors.
This is an edit to my previous review which was positive except the yuca fries.
I change this review based off lack of consistency in the food. The rice was yesterdays rice served on the plate. Not fresh or not properly cooked.
For a saturday evening there was a shortage of desserts & as we all know, in the restaurant industry, that saturdays are busy days. So weird that there was no specific desserts for the evening folk, perhaps only for the folks in the later night.
You just cant mess up rice in a Peruvian restaurant. Alas, this will be my last visit.

We had an excellent meal to celebrate a birthday here. Every bite of food was enjoyable - we had the'terre' &'mer' lunch specials & they were equally delicious. Service was so welcoming & the food was so good that we had already decided before finishing our meals that we'll be coming back to try more dishes & cocktails. Seeing the reviews saying it can be noisy in the evening we will go again for a late lunch (nice & quiet) or maybe sit on the terrasse in summer if we can get a spot. ¡Gracias!
Pretty cool place with lovely vibes & nice cocktails.
A bit on the expensive side, & portion of main could be bigger. Food is good but nothing extraordinary (hence 4 stars)
I'd definitely recommend & would come back just for the taquitos :)
The vibes & atmosphere of this restaurant are immaculate. Unfortunately, me & my group of 3 had to sit at the bar because there was a 2 hr wait when we arrived on Saturday night. It was so noisy, that it was impossible to hear each other across the bar.
The drinks were amazing- I had a mock-tail that I really enjoy & my friend loved their cocktails. The food was flavorful, & the dishes were quite unique, however I've had much tastier Peruvian food in places like D.C. I'd come back for the vibes & drinks as a bar-hopping stop, but would honestly try a different option for food.
Délicieux! Belle ambiance & nourriture excellente!
We sat at the bar & had such a good experience. The vibe of this restaurant was amazing, & the staff were super friendly & helpful the whole time. I would definitely recommend this place!
