Barranco is a modern Peruvian cuisine restaurant located in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal on Saint-Denis Street. It offers authentic flavors thanks to several products imported directly from Peru.
Barranco MTL gets high marks for fresh, flavorful Peruvian cuisine, with standout ceviche, octopus, lomo saltado, and arroz con mariscos, plus creative cocktails and indulgent desserts. The atmosphere is lively, colorful, and welcoming, making it a great spot for celebrations, casual nights out, or terrace brunch, with a warm, attentive service that often makes guests feel well cared for. The menu blends Peruvian street food with refined touches, and portions are generous, though a few notes mention busier times can bring slower service and some noise. Drinks are a highlight, from authentic pisco sours to inventive mocktails, and the overall experience is described as memorable and worth returning for. Reservations are recommended to avoid waiting, and the team is consistently praised for knowledge of the menu and thoughtful recommendations. It’s frequently described as authentic, vibrant, and delicious, with many guests feeling transported to Lima by the flavors, ambiance, and friendly staff. Barranco MTL stands out as a top pick for those seeking high-quality Peruvian cuisine in Montreal, with a lively vibe that invites sharing and good times.
The passion fruit pisco sour & chicha morada was amazing! I had causa al olivo ,conchitas a la Parmesana & order a lomo saltado to go. Everything delicious! The dessert was out of this world! The staff was very friendly, I will come back & 100% recommend this place!
Pisco beaucoup trop cher . Il faisait très froid dans le resto
I celebrated my birthday Saturday night & my whole group was impressed & grateful to have chosen this restaurant for my celebration. The flavours were perfectly balanced & each bite was an explosion of deliciousness. Good service & pisco sours were delightful. Looking forward to return soon.

The causa with Octopus entre dish was not as good as it was a few months back when I came with my wife. The lime used may be was not fresh, the potatoe used to make the mash potatoe was perhaps changed? I really don't know but it was a more heavenly experience last time we came. The pisco sour was also a bit off. It was okay but for the price you pay you expect something better. The last time we were here the pisco sour was made to perfection. The Lomo Saltado was very good. The quality did not vary from the last time we were here. A real paper menu is always good to have around especially for older folks like us. We invited friends to join us but it did not create the impact we would have liked. The service was okay but once again I expect more for what we had to pay.
Food was excellent!
My family visiting from Oregon was super happy & enjoyed everything
My brother in law talked to the chef, they have friends in common 😎🙃
Thanks for the pisco sour shots!

The drinks were creative, flavourful , & not too sweet. We had variations of a Pisco sour.
The food was delicious. We shared the house ceviche, the chicken tacos & the beef . All were very tasty. Lots of onions at this restaurant but the chef has taken time to create the menu & flavours accordingly so if you don't like a certain ingredient don't chose that item as no changes are made. Portions were great, flavours were fantastic.
Decoration is nice. The menu requires variety as real Peruvian plates, by the way Peruvian people always love Lomo Saltado with white rice & the Pisco Sour must be improved. Thanks.
After an enthusiastic welcome, we were treated to a windowside table for drinks. Explanations of Pisco Sour makeup helped convince us to order some, & they were marvellous, both to look at & to drink. We settled on five tapas dishes to share. All were delicious, including seafood & meat based delicacies. A great find on the Plateau!
