I recently visited Barbara Vin in Montreal with two friends for dinner & drinks, & overall, it was a great experience with a few minor downsides. Since they don't take reservations, we had to wait in line, which was a bit long, but the host was really accommodating. About halfway through the wait, he brought us to a little corner spot to browse the drink menu & enjoy a drink while we waited, which was a nice touch. He also offered us seating on the terrace, which is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, you can't have alcohol out there due to permit restrictions. The restaurant itself is very cute & fun, with cool decor that adds to the ambiance. We shared burrata, focaccia, parmesan fries as appetizers, followed by two pasta dishes (cacio e pepe & campanelle), which was plenty for the three of us. Everything was delicious! I had an Amaro Limonata, which was amazing, & my friends enjoyed margaritas. The drinks were good & affordable, but they were on the smaller side. While the vibe was super cool, the service was a little slow, & it took a while for our food to arrive. Despite that, I'd definitely go back & would recommend this spot to others. It's worth the wait!
Super ambiance, super service & bonne cuisinr !. Nous avons été servi par Lem au bar & il était adorable. Il nous a fait de superbes suggestions & nous a fait goûter plusieurs options pour s'assurer que c'était à notre goût. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter !
Been there many times & always had a great time. Vibes are on, the food is amazing & the service is as well. & I just have to say that BarBara has the hottest staff in Mtl, like really. The only thing i would complain about is the size of their plates, the food is amazing I just need more of it, especially for the price I pay. Other than that, 10/10 would recommend.
Edit* been twice since my first time, Both times I ordered the bolognese & both times they brought me the cacio Pepe. I understand it's a simple mistake but if you're not writing the order down when we're ordering 10 things obviously something is going to get mixed up . Besides that the pastas didn't match the quality of the first time I ate there... probably will not come back Food & wines are yummy, the staff is nice however it got a little ratchet when I was there last time . The Managers were clearly piss drunk, standing on tables barefoot pouring shots from the bottles into eachothers mouths, falling off the tables...etc not sure it's the look they want to be giving off.
Nice neighbourhood hang out! Excellent service with very friendly & efficient staff! Food is not what I expected but then again I did not know it was more of a bar with a few ordinary food item on the list than a restaurant. If you are looking for a bar with a wide range of drinks, warm vibe & friendly staff, this is a good neighbourhood spot!
Magnifique bar à vin, service super chaleureux. Nous n'y avons pas mangé, mais l'explication des vins ou des cocktails était parfaite, belle dégustation.
Le restaurant Bar bara ...est un endroit bien sympathique,où il fait bon ..prendre un apéro entre ami .....je n' ai pas tester le menu qui avait l air appétissant....mais vu la queue & le temps d attente d au moins 1 h qu il y avait pour une table ..... C est un bon signe ....!!! Je recommande
La nourriture est incroyable, je recommande le plat Cacio e pepe, par contre, mon copain, qui avait pris un plat avec de la viande, a dû manquer le travail le lendemain de notre soirée au Bar Bara car il a une indigestion. Le service est également très lent, mais nous avions été avertis. Si ce n'était pas de l'indigestion, les pâtes sont excellentes...

My flight was delayed & just picked BarBara from a map, about 20 minutes away. Located on a quaint part of Notre Dame, open space to the street with a nice patio. Young-ish crowd, very friendly. Great service with very friendly server! Food & drink good, reasonably priced. Thank-you BarBara!
Tasty pasta, nice ambiance, good service! Focaccia bread is fresh & nice here , they bake it. The only negative point about Barbara is there is no reservation & it is first come first serve, so you need to give your name when you arrive & on Saturday night waiting time was about 50minutes!
Super trendy resto bar cafe where you can just hang out with friends. They don't pressure you to leave or to order. We stayed here for a few hours & only ordered drinks. They also brought us complimentary pastries. Service was very good & they were all very nice. All of the food also looked delicious. Highly recommend coming for a chill time with friends or even a date. Highly recommend their matcha with pistachio

Service was chaotic & inefficient, our drinks were sitting at the bar for 10 minutes before someone realized & brought them to us. Despite this, many of the staff weren't occupied so it seems mismanaged. Food was overpriced ($16 for one piece of toast). Many better places you can go to in Montreal
I have been to BarBara a few times & the food is always as good, fresh & tasty! The staff is very friendly, the ambiance of the place is cozy & lovely. What I also like is that's it doubles as a café during the day so you can also drop by for a quick coffee or matcha break. A bit of a side note, but their matcha lattes hot or iced are very well prepared & taste very good. I always like to bring my friends here, the price is very reasonable & some side dishes can definitely be shared. I would say some of my favorite items are the arancini, the burrata & the cacio e pepe. They have a good wine & alcohol selection as well. Just a few things to consider is that they do not take reservations so you have to be there early on typical weekend evenings because you might have to wait for a little while. However, you can always order a drink or a side dish while you wait. That being said, I would recommend you to try this place!
BarBara was on my list for a while, & I'm glad to have finally tried it, especially for a date night! The atmosphere is so cozy & romantic, literally a candlelight dinner! The food was great, I especially enjoyed the burrata, cocktail shrimp & gnocchi! I'll have to come back to try more dishes!
Cozy bar with a bit more upscale vibe. Ordered literally everything on the money for 6 people. Was around 40$ per person. You can't go wrong with any of the food. Portions are decent & fulfilling. Service was great & prompt, however there wasn't a lot of people when I went there. Added as one of my new favorite bars to go to.
