I visited St Denis hoping to have something to eat, but I was denied entry because I was told the venue was full. From what I could see, there were empty tables without reserved signs. The receptionist spoke to me in a manner that I found rude & disrespectful. The interaction left me with the impression that I was being treated differently, & I left very disappointed with the customer service.
Very disappointing service. I came to St Denis hoping to have a meal, but I was not allowed to enter because I was told the venue was full. The staff member at the reception was not helpful & did not offer any alternatives. Not a great customer experience.
I had a disappointing experience at St Denis. I wanted to enter the bar to have something to eat, but the receptionist refused to let me in, saying the place was full. However, I felt that the situation could have been handled more professionally & politely. Unfortunately, I left feeling unwelcome.

I have really mixed feelings about Bar St Denis. I went once before & found the menu very veggie-forward, but my second visit was a little bit frustrating. Even though I obviously know it's not a restaurant known for vegetarian food, I expect a place in this price range to go through reservation notes before service.
Despite explicitly leaving a note that I am vegan, there wasn't a single vegetarian(!) main dish on the menu, & barely any veggie starters. The kitchen wasn't able to accommodate or modify anything either. As a vegan, I am always willing to be flexible when dining out, but there wasn't even a basic plant-friendly alternative. On top of that, we found the sommelier to be pretty unhelpful when we were trying to select drinks.
That being said, the atmosphere is super nice & the rest of the staff was very friendly. We sat at the bar & still managed to have a great time & enjoy good service, but the lack of inclusivity & attention to detail for the price is a major letdown.
A stellar dining experience from start to finish. From the moment you walk through the door, you can tell this place is something special.
The staff were incredibly hospitable, & the service was attentive without ever feeling rushed. Our server was both knowledgeable & friendly, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. The warm ambiance of the restaurant perfectly complements the incredible meal you're about to enjoy.
Every dish we ordered was absolutely delectable, but the uni pasta was particularly memorable & easily the standout of the evening.

• 3 desserts
Énorme coupe de coeur. L'ambiance est à la fois décontractée & haut de gamme. Tous les plats (5 services) étaient savoureux & le service (Tommy au bar) était impeccable. Recommande fortement!
Our experience at Bar St-Denis was amazing from start to finish; we were warmly greeted & taken care of all night by our outstanding server, who was knowledgeable, answered our questions, & paced the meal perfectly.
We had the scallops, eggplant & beef tartare to start. For the mains, we had the pressé de homard, BBQ trout, & the duck. Every dish was fresh, satisfying, & delicious. We liked that the dishes weren't overcomplicated & the sauces complimented the freshness of the meat/fish without overpowering it; the fresh ingredients are the stars of the show here & the chefs know it.
We had the Fraisier for dessert, a strawberry cake with meringue. It was OUTSTANDING. Easily one of the best desserts I've had in a restaurant.
Absolutely amazing food, such attentive service. The dessert (as well as the whole meal) nearly brought me to tears. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

Fantastic food & service! Food is fresh & tasty, the fish especially! An all time fav in Montreal for date night, girls night, any night really! Tommy was our AMAZING bartender who took the time to explain the menu to us & made the atmosphere A+++, Clara also gave a fantastic service. Our third time here & there will be many many more!!!
