Made a reservation, thinking that having ramen on a rainy night would do the trick.
But then, on a whim, threw caution to the wind, went for the chef's choice tasting menu & delighted over every dish served. I'm still thinking about how tasty the heirloom tomatoes starter, salmon oshizushi, truffle mazemen & matcha-chocolate layered cake were.
The service was great - just the right amount of attentiveness & warmth that set the tone for dinner with a dear friend & made for the perfect setting to catch up, dine & drink well.
Looking forward to an excuse to re-visit in the hopes that I remember to take photos -we were immediately intrigued by the visually stunning dishes & went for each one the second after we fawned over the plating.
My experience at Bar Otto was fabulous. Incredibly fresh ingredients & the service was phenomenal. I found the price to ratio for the Wagyu & Toro not fabulous compared to say Nozy but overall still incredibly tasty. The soft shell crab Bao & the salmon Oshizushi were clear winners. The duck Mazemen was bland.

My bf & I visited on Valentine's Day & really enjoyed the food. We had to return the following week to try the regular menu!!
We ordered today's special menu wagyu, which had an amazing flavour, & the ramen was also excellent! The service was great too.
Je mets 5 étoiles pour le geste du restaurant qui m a offert qqchose, car mon plat n'a pas.convaincu du tout par rapport au prix, mais ceux de mes amis etait très bien. Donc merci. Je recommande.
Another great address in Notre Dame! The menu is very rich so its definitely a good place to order different items & share. My favourite thing was the mushrooms mazemen.

Ambiance feutrée, service courtois, j'ai adoré mon expérience au bar Otto. Les cocktails sont originaux avec une petite touche japonaise. Les plats sont vraiment succulents. Les portions sont copieuses, je vous invite à partager pour essayer un maximum de plats. Le poulet karaage est si bon que nous que nous en avons commandé un deuxième.
Nous y retournerons!
Great food, the Burratina Daikon is a dish that you'll remember for a long time. Additionally the duck mazemen did not disappoint, I wish they had this at their cathcart location too
This was such a lovely spot. We had a good time & our server was nice & welcoming. Our food came out quickly & I enjoyed the ramen, it was a good portion & filled me up quickly. The restaurant vibe is really nice & a chill place to hangout or go for date night.
Solid place to have good Japanese food. The store is designed as a very welcoming & beautiful environment to sit, talk, & eat. The food is very tasty & the service is quick. The walls are decorated with various Japanese references.
Alright. Nothing to rave about. The server suggested a wine based off what I said & it wasn't remotely close. They should train them better when it comes with the extensive wine list. Made the pairing horrible.
The restaurant itself is amazing with great food, drinks & a great atmosphere. That being said their system to manage reservations is terrible. I tried to go there 3 times. Here is how it went: 1. Everything went great! 2. When we got there, they said they couldn't find the reservation despite us showing the confirmation email. 3. When we got there, the restaurant was CLOSED despite both google & their reservation website saying they were open (on december 23rd) Love this restaurant, I just wish they would actually let me eat there more than 33% of time I try to!
A cozy spot perfect for a casual night out. We went in on a weekday without a reservation, & there was no wait at all. Highly recommend their drinks, sashimi, & nigiri. The ramen & mazemen were okay. The staff were incredibly friendly & attentive. Fast service
I came here with friends with expectations. We had a nice bottle of red wine & shared on some food. The soft shell Bao was awesome!! I'd thought the price was expensive for the little amount of food you get. So price to food portion is off. Overall, good atmosphere to have good conversations with friends.
