Super service & ambiance très agréable, rien à redire de ce côté-là. En revanche, les plats manquaient un peu de peps côté sushis, & les portions étaient petites par rapport à des prix assez élevés.
We had the karaage & the chirashi here, along with drinks. The karaage was lovely, & for the price, the chirashi had a good amount of sashimi on top of a bed of rice. The only thing I'd complain about is the strong garlicky taste of the fish in the chirashi. There isn't supposed to be a garlic taste in chirashi whatsoever - I'm assuming it was to mask the fishy taste or possibly smell? But I'd prefer lemon or something else, not garlic, as it was a bit overpowering. Otherwise, the server was lovely & attentive & we got everything we needed.

To be honest I'm very confused... This restaurant has been on my to go list for a while & tonight my husband & I decided to do a spontaneous date night, so we went & ordered the tasting menu. First dish was the scallops with cravier. Was decent but nothing was impressive ( very salty, flavor, texture, taste etc.) then second dish was ... A tomato, so I'm guessing the important part of this dish is the mousse? The tomato doesn't even taste tomato. The flavor was flat, & the tomato slice was too large & thick, hard to bite. The sushi was decent, 5 pieces. Then the last dish was soba noodles stir fried with chili oil & a few slices of cucumber. Again another confusing dish. Eventually we paid $100+tax for the 4 dishes. & had to wrap up the night with 2 hotdogs cause we were starving after the meal. Maybe that's the normal standard with restaurants nowadays? I'm not sure. It felt almost like a scam... It kinda explains why the restaurant is almost empty on a summer Friday night. The environment & service was very nice though. Won't come back. Hope we were just unlucky!
Muy buen restaurante aunque no creo que esté entre los mejores en cuanto a producto, el blue fin tuna del sashimi en cuanto al color habría apostado a qué era aleta amarilla aunque en sabor se me quedaba entre aleta amarilla y bluefin, el salmón orgánico pero no King salmón. Probamos una gran parte de la carta y nos pareció bastante decente pero nada que destacara, las porciones se me hicieron un poco pequenas.

Je suivais l'établissement depuis quelque temps sur Instagram, & chaque publication me donnait plus envie d'y aller. Par un soir d'automne, on a enfin sauté le pas - & on n'a pas été déçus.
En apéritif, la limonade maison était rafraîchissante. Puis nous avons partagé quelques entrées aussi fraîches que goûteuses, avec des saveurs qui font voyager dès la première bouchée.
Mention spéciale aux baos au crabe à carapace molle : le mariage des oignons, jalapenos, herbes fraîches & de la sauce sucrée-acidulée créait un bel équilibre. La texture du crabe croustillant contrastait parfaitement avec la tendresse du pain vapeur. Chaque bouchée offrait une harmonie à la fois raffinée & réconfortante.
Le chirashi, lui, se dégustait lentement. Un plat tout en délicatesse, où chaque ingrédient mérite son moment.
On y retourne ? Très certainement. Ne serait-ce que pour tester l'omakase du chef, qui promet une expérience encore plus poussée. À confirmer, mais il me semble que la carte change au fil des saisons - une excellente raison d'y revenir encore… & encore.
Ma 2e fois ici & probablement la dernière! Les drinks étaient vraiment décevants pour le prix & les portions très petites malgré qu'on nous ait dit le contraire lors du choix de nos plats. La dernière fois il me semble que les portions étaient facilement le double (& le prix moins élevé!). On nous a apporté le mauvais plat de nouilles à table puis finalement ça a été corrigé pour la bonne chose, mais c'est quand même un peu plate & ça crée de l'attente en plein milieu de notre repas. Nous avons écourté notre visite & avons terminé la soirée ailleurs. Le personnel était tout de même vraiment super gentil!
Consistently incredible, & I don't say that lightly. The quality of the fish is very comparable to what I ate in Japan. The atmosphere is lively but never tooo loud or obnoxious. The staff is amazing. They're well versed on the menu & offer very great service (rare these days at most restaurants). The Sashimi is a MUST-specifically the chef's choice selection. They also have Grape Republic by the bottle, which you should absolutely splurge on for a special occasion. I've dined here several times & absolutely love it.

Bar OTTO is one of my new favorite places in the city for exceptionally good food & cocktails. The service was absolutely fantastic - our server was super friendly & made us feel very welcome. We sat at the bar - which made for great views of both the bartending & kitchen. We were really there for the drinks, & boy did they not disappoint. I had the best cocktail in the city here - the Spicy Marg!!! It was literal perfection - the bartender is incredibly talented & also very kind. We also got the crab boa & cod cheek skewers which were absolutely delicious. We will be coming back for a full meal & more Spicy Marg's very soon!
J'ai découvert par hasard ce restaurant japonais, & on a adoré. Le personnel a été très sympathique, le service rapide, & la nourriture excellente. Mon meilleur restaurant japonais.
Love Bar OTTO! It has an awesome chill & intimate vibe great for a few drinks & a meal with close friends, a date, or a special occasion, but what really sets it apart is the staff.
I have only gone a handful of times but the staff recognized me really quickly & make sure to so hi when I pop in. It's the little things but it really made us feel welcomed when we first moved into the neighborhood. I love a local personal experience that feels small village in a big city & that's exactly what they provide.
The food also happens to be delicious & unique & they have a really solid Japanese whiskey listing which is what initially drew me in.

J'ai vraiment tout adoré, allant du service rapide & complet jusqu'aux cocktails & à la nourriture fraîche visiblement préparée avec soin. Je reviendrai assurément!
We had an amazing time at Bar Otto!
We went to celebrate my husband's 32nd birthday & chose the three-course tasting menu with wine pairing - which was the best decision we could've made, since it was our first time at the restaurant. Charlotte & Chloé took great care of us!
For dessert, I ordered the yuzu cheesecake, & they even added a candle, which was such a thoughtful touch! We were also treated to a plum liqueur to finish the night.
We'll definitely be going back!
Made a reservation, thinking that having ramen on a rainy night would do the trick.
But then, on a whim, threw caution to the wind, went for the chef's choice tasting menu & delighted over every dish served. I'm still thinking about how tasty the heirloom tomatoes starter, salmon oshizushi, truffle mazemen & matcha-chocolate layered cake were.
The service was great - just the right amount of attentiveness & warmth that set the tone for dinner with a dear friend & made for the perfect setting to catch up, dine & drink well.
Looking forward to an excuse to re-visit in the hopes that I remember to take photos -we were immediately intrigued by the visually stunning dishes & went for each one the second after we fawned over the plating.
