Hi end restaurant in downtown Mtl, located in a hotel. The wait at the entrance of the resto was long. Two hostesses, one bouncer (I guess you can call him), one trio in front of me waiting to be seated, totalled not acknowledged for 10 minutes before I approached them by contouring the trio on front of me. But, the service at the table was EXCELLENT! Water & wine constantly refilled, food arrived fairly quickly, waiter was knowledgeable about the menu. I wish I could name him (tall, dark hair, moustache, with tattoos on his left arm), but I didn't pay the bill. He was great. Food was amazing! Octopus & burrata dishes to start. Two of us had the lobster risotto, one had the Wellington & one had the filet mignon. Absolutely delicious.View more

Got drinks. Service is meh. It's such a shame that they have such a great historical building & the original interiors feel like opulence, but the service & upkeep of the space is a huge letdown. The lounge section of the bar is not worth it. Same price for drinks but zero ambiance. Decor, seating arrangements & lighting feels cheap & easy; worlds away from the main room.View more

I have travelled to many places, I came to this place to try the beef Wellington, as I have tried the one at Hells Kitchen in Las Vegas & was curious about the one here at Bar George, people have told me it is better. The beef Wellington at Bar George was excellent & in my opinion much better in flavour, loved it. Had the Burger, was dry a little, truffle mashed was to watery for me, waiter was amazing & top notch. I gave four star because, they were short staff, as staff was sick, so took two hours for dinner & an app, nothing you can do, but when you are going spend minimum over $150 a person plus, they should let you now up front it will be a little slow for your food. This way if you have to make it somewhere else, you are prepared . Again, you most go & have the Beef Wellington, it is unreal & I hate when people leave bullshit reviews, this is hundred percent review, I will go again & have dinner hundred percent, only suggestion is , let your customers know if service is behind, doesn't take much, thank you for the great server ( Julien ) & the Beef Wellington.View more

We arrived early & decided to enjoy the bar first. We received excellent service from a knowledgeable & personable bartender. Afterward, we moved to the dining area for dinner, equally pleased with the service & ambiance. The beef Wellington, snooki, & chicken dinners are highly recommended; you won't be disappointed. I went here for the first time to celebrate my birthday alone & was so impressed by the ambiance & the kind attentive service! BUT, I've NEVER had a beef bourguignon that DRY before. No joke almost choked & had to take sips of water after every bite of beef. Not only that but it was way too salty! I was expecting the food to be as immaculate as the atmosphere. When the waiter asked if I liked it I was too shy to say my actual opinion. I got a free birthday cake though that was very delicious just a bit too sweet for me at the end. But I really appreciated that for my birthday so thank you to the chefI also had the Burrata with heirloom tomatoes & that was very good. I will come back to try the beef wellington one day as I heard it can be very good.View more

Nous avons été dans ce restaurant pour l'anniversaire d'un ami. Le lieu est tout simplement magnifique, les moulures & les tapisseries sur les murs en bois sont très bien entretenu. La nourriture est excellente. Je vous recommande le boeuf wellington of course ! Forcément les prix sont assez élevé & la facture monte très très vite. I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekend brunch. Service is impeccable, & the food is outstanding. At our table, my wife had the halloumi & avocado on toast, our friends had the full English & eggs bendict with bacon, & I had the eggs benedict with their house made black pudding (pictured). Coffees & ceasars rounded out the meals. Everything was divine. A big thanks to our server, Lena, for her smashing attention to detail & professionalism. Our next trip to Montreal will definitely include a return.View more
