Thursday night in August. Impressive entrance the crafts people who made this building would be famous today it is that gorgeous. Attached hotels seems like it might be cool. But as for our dinner: it was merely fine. I'm putting photographs of what we ate. Lost the one of the beef Wellington, which my partner said was really good. Our server had far too many tables for one individual to adequately help. Well, I had to return my club soda for being flat after waiting 10 minutes to get a drink, it was a little frustrating. The lime was so dry & had literally no juice. He mentioned that the green beans were not delicious & he offered to take it off the bill, which I didn't expect so that was very nice. It probably saved his tip! All in all worth it to visit for a drink. Not the culinary adventure we enjoy.View more

This place is a dream , feels like you travel in time when you are there . I came there with a friend to get some drinks at night, we ended up staying in the hotel upstairs (despite having another hotel booked ) & stayed next day for both breakfast & lunch. I couldn't get enough of it. Took pictures of everything & every corner of this place , service is very good, everyone is very friendly & food is delicious. Highly recommend to come after sunset when they light up the candles , the vibe is incredible. I will definitely be back every-time I visit Montreal . Will be posting this place on my Insta as well ❤️View more

Nice view. Got lucky to make a booking the evening of & choose dining room or terrace. Drinks were top notch. Beet salad was artistically delicate & delightful. Lobster risotto was perfect. Wished the beef was seared in the beef Wellington. Overall, pleasant evening.View more

Only went for cocktails so cannot speak to the whole experience but ambiance was great. Historical building inside & beautiful, modern patio outside. Great spot for people watching. My drink was ok, nothing extraordinary but definitely was a cool spot. Service was great.View more

Went there for brunch , the place is beautiful, it must be amazing to have a drink there near the bar. Our waiter was nice & friendly. We tried the burger, salmon & the lobster omelette. The omelette was definitely the best choice. The texture of the omelette & the lobster were amazing. I would probably go back for the omelette again. The other dishes were good but a bit on the salty side.View more

We came on Friday afternoon to celebrate with a drink. We sat at the bar. The worst bartender service ever. The bartender was behaving like he does not have time for us. & $21 for Aperol spritz? If you're going to charge $21 for a classic cocktail, I expect good hospitality. Won't go again.View more

Magnificent atmosphere, the utmost staff professionalism & some of the tastiest food & drinks I've ever had. I recommend anyone to pay a visit themselves, & at a bare minimum try the bar. It is very haute-couture with a dash of modernity, so dress in a reasonably decent fashion; I would say smart casual is the cut. The scenery is of an ostentatious late 19th century decor that contains 140+ years of Montreal history. The stained glass is mesmerizing, the woodwork unbelievable. Shout out to Jonathan, the best waiter in the dining hall for the last 3 years I've been visiting - an absolute champion who's extremely knowledgeable & provides the most fantastic service I've ever received at any restaurant. Perfect place for firewalls, meetings, & special occasions, avoid F1 nights too crowded for nothing special. If you do not like the crowd & people pushing each other with their drinks like me don't buy ticket. Thursdays are the best! Valet available & underground as well.View more

Bar George is in a great space & has great food to boost. I think this was our most expensive meal in Montreal, but my wife loved the lobster risotto. My steak was amazing as well. Drinks were great & waitstaff was friendly. A great visit!View more

Never again. It's not bad but to spend 400$+ for 3 with that food & that service, you'll have to be either a billionaire or with a daddy to come back. We were a party of 3, each had a drink, an appetizer & a main course. Waited about 1-1.5 hours for our main courses, the room was loud with bad music. Overall, 3 stars just cause it's not that bad, but not good either.View more

Bar attenant à un hôtel boutique, le Bar George impressionne avec sa décoration intérieure soigneusement préservée parce que c'était longtemps un club privé réservé aux gens qui pissent de l'argent hérité de leur famille. Aujourd'hui ouvert au public, l'atmosphère intérieure d'époque est unique à Montréal & probablement aussi au Canada. Nous y étions seulement pour des cocktails, les prix également impressionnent, allant de $15 à $30 le drink donc, l'atmosphère d'époque, ça se paie. Loved the drinks. Hostess was really nice. It was easy to book, they even called to confirm the reservation. I was running late so they offered to give a later slot. I do feel the bartenders can be more engaging. Once they give you your drink, they don't come back to ask if you need water or a another one. I had to ask twice for a glass of water. It wasn't even that busy. For a place like that, the service standards can be taken up a notch or two.View more
