Absolutely gorgeous, old-money, roaring 20's decor. It's lovely, & just before a Habs game, very likely.
I made a reservation for 18:15 but the place was just booming. We ended up sharing a table with others, no big deal.
Great classic cocktails, sometimes with a twist. My +1 ordered a dirty martini, the menu said they added sage, but we didn't taste any (maybe they don't add it to the vodka version). My Tuxedo #2 was fragrant & flowery, as expected.
We decided to try the party platter, where you get to try a few appetizers (see the photo). Everything was good, I liked the oriental style ribs, fried halloumi & tasty sauces.
Service was fine, even during the pre game rush.
It's definitely not a cheap date place. It's a dress up, go all out Great-Gatsby-style kind of place.
We really enjoyed it.

Did someone say 1$ oyster Sunday & Monday? Bar Dominion did. Fresh Oyster served with lemon & lime edges, two mignonettes & hot sauce. The cheeseburger was absolutely delicious, grilled to perfection. Great crowd & décore. Service was friendly & professional. I highly recommend a reservation.
This is a nicely lit cosy bar in Downtown Montreal. The decor seems to take you back to the early 20th Century. There was a good selection of cocktails but the food menu is restricted. My first main course I had to send back as it came out cold. It is a shame as I thought this was going to be better than it turned out to be.
Merveilleux comme endroit & je recommande surtout pour le 5 à 7. Les cocktails sont divins & la nourriture est excellente. Dès l'arrivée, vous êtes pris en charge par l'équipe avec une attitude & un service hors pair. Le lieu & le décor sont emblématiques & chaleureux. Je recommande sans hésiter 👌🏼
What a hidden gem in plain sight! Was in town for work & happened upon this place on a Monday evening & if it's this good on a Monday, I can only imagine how much more it is at the weekend. Food was fantastic, the vesper was spot on, staff are knowledgeable & attentive. Amazing & eclectic decor. Go, try the burger, you will not be disappointed!

Le bar Dominion est un incontournable pour mes amis & moi. Le décor est classe, j'aime beaucoup l'éclairage notamment au niveau des bouteilles derrière le bar (photos Instagramables garanties!) Le service est impeccable en salle avec notamment Jules & Elisa qui sont toujours aux petits soins avec nous. Au bar, Quentin a toujours le mot pour nous faire rire & est de bons conseils pour nous aider à trouver le cocktail idéal à chaque fois! Il y a également un Dj quelques soirs & la musique est juste parfaite pour créer une petite ambiance. Pour finir, le menu nourriture est varié & très appétissant, mention spéciale pour les soirées huîtres à 1$ ! Je recommande fortement cet établissement ✨
Ce bar a une très belle atmosphère/ambiance, le décor est très beau, mais les compliments s'arrête là malheureusement avec cet endroit. J'ai eu la chance d'essayer quelque truc sur le menu, le manger il a du goût mais pour le prix, on dirait sa ne vaut jamais la peine, j'ai mangé 3 truc en une soirée & j'avais encore très faim. Maintenant on va discuter du service, j'ai visité cet endroit à 4 occasion, à toute les fois avec la même serveuse, une dame française avec une attitude. Elle nous fais sentir comme des cons pour avoir poser des questions très simple alors qu'on demeure poli avec, en plus j'y vais tout le temps avec un groupe qui tip bien (pcq on travaille dans l'industrie on sait c'est quoi). Je peux élaborer sur mes sentiments sur cet aspect, qui franchement ruine le tout pour moi. De plus, les cocktails prennent TRÈS longtemps à faire.
Bon choix de cocktails, Mixologues sur place alors ils m'ont concocté un mocktail épicé à mon goût. Nous avons opté pour l'entrée à partager & tout était bon. Le service est lent même si le bar n'est pas très achalandé. L'ambiance est superbe, j'adore le décor & l'histoire de l'endroit. Les banquettes & bancs sont très confortables, ça donne le goût de passer un bon moment.
The vibe & decor are awesome. Great location, delicious food & beautiful cocktails! There are quite a few gluten free options/modifications if you talk to your server. Raj took great care of us & we will definitely be back soon!!

It used to be my playground, soooo happy it's back! The English private club style decor is still intact. Absolute must do in Montreal! Perfect place to have a drink with dr ends or a date 🥂 perfect before or after show at the Bell center. Great drinks, food to share or main meals, good selection & prices. Sitting at the bar promises a great night ahead. Still they kept the big banquette at the rear. The music could be less loud. I love it & will come back as I used to for sure! Oysters at 1$ everyday before 6pm!
2024: Bar Dominion: decor is classic. Music was a weird mix of reggae & disco. Doesn't really have the same classy Brit vibe as before at all. The Martingale was a mediocre overpriced cocktail. My sister enjoyed her tuxedo martini but it wasn't something I would get. No effort into drink presentation. Service was polite but not particularly attentive. Left after one drink. 2019: Dominion Square Tavern (5 stars): Always great service, strong cocktails, gorgeous decor.
Came here for a date night at 9 pm. The decor & lighting give it a warm vibe, but the music is really loud & everyone was shouting. The acoustics in the bar aren't great & the sound felt a bit raw. For me, it was a bit too overwhelming as it was difficult to have a conversation. The food was excellent quality, but would have appreciated the portion sizes to be a bit larger for the price. We got the pétoncles, salmon tartare, oysters ($1 each), & ordered a jambon with cheese as we were still hungry. I'd go back, but not for an intimate date night.
