I've been here 3 times now & find it amazing! For the food quality & ambience, I think the prices are great. The ambience & service are also amazing. I've been here with family, friends, & most recently for my birthday with a larger party. The times with family & friends were very good but my birthday dinner stood out. The bar was great with the allergy in the party, the service was attentive, & they were responsive to my requests to pre order & pay in advance. Everyone had an amazing time & & everyone at the bar made organising the dinner easy. Thank you!
Around 6 on a Thursday night dead of winter. Thought I would catch a quick bite before an event. Slammed. Not a place for locals to drop in. Reservation for 1 at the bar?
We used to go for nice, sit-down suppers at Dominion Square Tavern, but it seems to have become - at least on the recent Friday evening I was there with colleagues - a loud, dark, overcrowded'barbar' full of the downtown lawyer / business crowd. I was the last to arrive at our table & spent the entire evening with either the waitstaff or the fellow seated across the aisle from us bumping into me, which I didn't enjoy. We ended up leaving to get supper elsewhere as we couldn't hear each other over the noise. I found it a far cry from the charming pub atmosphere that I remembered & I won't be going back on a Friday evening anytime soon. Food was fine - slightly elevated pub food. Drinks were about on par, price-wise, with other downtown options, though at one point out waitress said there would be a wait for refills as the bar was very backed up.
The vibes in this bar are *gorgeous*-super aesthetic in a way you genuinely wouldn't expect from the exterior. I came for a friend's birthday & it was such a fun spot for a night out.
Cocktail prices are pretty much in line with every other downtown Montreal bar, so you're not really coming here for a'deal,' but the drinks were **really yummy** & well made.
Food-wise: we ordered the **party platter** & I honestly wouldn't recommend it. It's marketed as a mix of smaller appetizers in one platter, but it felt like only 2-3 actual items from the menu, with **a huge portion of the platter being crudités**-& it was **$74**. That said, the sauces/dips that came with it were amazing, especially the **chimichurri**.
The mains helped recover the experience a bit. I had the **burger**-it was a good portion if you want something heavier, but mine was a little dry & kind of cold. Not bad, just not extraordinary. The **fries**, though? Dangerous. Genuinely addictive-best'drunk bar fries' I've had in a while.
Service was another standout: the waitress & staff were super hands-on & attentive, which we really appreciated. Overall, the drinks & ambiance were the highlights for me, & I definitely wouldn't be surprised if I ended up back here again.
We had a wonderful evening at Bar Dominion this week. The establishment was packed when we came in, the Habs were playing in a few hours & people were coming in to have drinks before.
The staff were very efficient, carefully explained the situation & conveniently updated us every few minutes as to when we would get space. Finally they cleared up some standing tables & we ended up being there for a bit. They then offered us to switch to better places once the crowd cleared up.
The bar was very elegant, as was the rest of the restaurant. A classic British-Canadian pub in the heart of Montreal that I would definitely recommend to people if they are in the area. There was a veey good mix of people inside & the bartenders were friendly & gave us unlimited waters without asking.
I visited this bar recently. There's ongoing construction in front, which understandably isn't the bar's fault but does make the entrance a bit unappealing.
Unfortunately, my visit was affected by the condition of the restroom - the toilet hadn't been cleaned & was visibly soiled, which was quite unpleasant.
I'm sharing this in hopes that management pays closer attention to restroom maintenance, as it really impacts the overall guest experience.
Our happy place for cocktails & tapas style food after a long work week! Oliver & both Quentin's making us cocktails From another planet along with Dj Contact hitting the right tunes on a friday night, makes this bar 2nd to none! Love the vibe & everything else about it here!!!
Bar Dominion est vite devenu un de mes coups de coeur. Ambiance tamisée, cocktails impeccables & un menu disponible jusqu'à tard. Mention spéciale à Isaac pour son service chaleureux & souriant!
We stopped in before a concert & our bartender (Oliver) helped us right away, not only was he so kind & helpful but all the food he recommended was so good. It was so good we had to write a review!

Une très belle adresse! Le lieu est magnifique & bien tenu. Le bar est somptueux & le personnel de service arborent des chemises & tabliers blancs immaculés. La carte des cocktails est très intéressante & le menu de nourriture est accès sur le finger food.
Did someone say 1$ oyster Sunday & Monday? Bar Dominion did. Fresh Oyster served with lemon & lime edges, two mignonettes & hot sauce. The cheeseburger was absolutely delicious, grilled to perfection. Great crowd & décore. Service was friendly & professional. I highly recommend a reservation.
