I had dinner at Bar Dominion & it turned out to be a great experience. The highlight of the night was definitely the $1 oysters-we couldn't resist & ordered a couple dozen. Fresh & well worth it.
I also tried the deviled eggs topped with caviar (my first time trying caviar). They were good, though a bit on the salty side. I actually preferred the other fish roe on top-the larger orange ones-which added a really nice texture & flavor. The caviar itself was subtle since there wasn't much of it.
The standout dish for me was the tuna tataki. It was absolutely amazing-lightly seared raw tuna over a miso vinaigrette, topped with greens (likely seaweed) & cucumber. I would go back just for that dish alone.
We sat at the bar & got to watch the mixologists in action, which was a great experience. The staff were a 10/10-friendly, warm, professional, & very attentive without being overbearing.
Overall, a fantastic spot. I'd definitely come back.
I've been here 3 times now & find it amazing! For the food quality & ambience, I think the prices are great. The ambience & service are also amazing. I've been here with family, friends, & most recently for my birthday with a larger party. The times with family & friends were very good but my birthday dinner stood out. The bar was great with the allergy in the party, the service was attentive, & they were responsive to my requests to pre order & pay in advance. Everyone had an amazing time & & everyone at the bar made organising the dinner easy. Thank you!

Great atmosphere & excellent cocktails. I visited on a Friday night & wasn't aware that reservations were required; however, the team quickly accommodated us, which was greatly appreciated.
The service was attentive, & the cocktails were exceptionally well crafted.
The ambiance was vibrant, with great music that really elevated the experience.
A special thank you to the manager, Paul, for warmly accommodating us, & to DJ Mike for providing such an enjoyable musical atmosphere.
The vibes in this bar are *gorgeous*-super aesthetic in a way you genuinely wouldn't expect from the exterior. I came for a friend's birthday & it was such a fun spot for a night out.
Cocktail prices are pretty much in line with every other downtown Montreal bar, so you're not really coming here for a'deal,' but the drinks were **really yummy** & well made.
Food-wise: we ordered the **party platter** & I honestly wouldn't recommend it. It's marketed as a mix of smaller appetizers in one platter, but it felt like only 2-3 actual items from the menu, with **a huge portion of the platter being crudités**-& it was **$74**. That said, the sauces/dips that came with it were amazing, especially the **chimichurri**.
The mains helped recover the experience a bit. I had the **burger**-it was a good portion if you want something heavier, but mine was a little dry & kind of cold. Not bad, just not extraordinary. The **fries**, though? Dangerous. Genuinely addictive-best'drunk bar fries' I've had in a while.
Service was another standout: the waitress & staff were super hands-on & attentive, which we really appreciated. Overall, the drinks & ambiance were the highlights for me, & I definitely wouldn't be surprised if I ended up back here again.
What a hidden gem in plain sight! Was in town for work & happened upon this place on a Monday evening & if it's this good on a Monday, I can only imagine how much more it is at the weekend. Food was fantastic, the vesper was spot on, staff are knowledgeable & attentive. Amazing & eclectic decor. Go, try the burger, you will not be disappointed!
We came in for dinner last night & had a great time! Food was incredible - lobster roll, deviled eggs with cavier & the tomato salad were our favourites. They have a good, unique selection of cocktails. Service was superb- servers were super friendly & attentive. A minor thing that was a bit uncomfortable was the restaurant was very cold (even for summer temperatures outside). Can't wait to come back again- thanks for a phenomenal service!
I celebrated my wedding shower at Bar dominion & had the most amazing experience. The staff were so kind & attentive, the food was absolutely delicious & the ambiance was perfect (amazing music). I'll be coming back for dinner & cocktails soon!

2024: Bar Dominion: decor is classic. Music was a weird mix of reggae & disco. Doesn't really have the same classy Brit vibe as before at all. The Martingale was a mediocre overpriced cocktail. My sister enjoyed her tuxedo martini but it wasn't something I would get. No effort into drink presentation. Service was polite but not particularly attentive. Left after one drink. 2019: Dominion Square Tavern (5 stars): Always great service, strong cocktails, gorgeous decor.
Fast friendly service! Great cocktails, delicious bites. We had a small gathering for a group of 7-8. The high tables were perfect for mingling. If you like oysters, they were beautifully fresh & tasty. Special thanks to our server Annie who was very attentive & took great care of our group. Paul was also super helpful.
Was looking for a cocktail bar with eats almost missed this place due to construction, but thrilled we found it. Great cocktails & very attentive service. Seating is comfortable & set up to socialize. Nice buzz without feeling manufactured, chain or being stuffy. Comfortable casual with a flair. We had the bruchetta...the creammed ricotta..this was incredible
Very nice place. Top notch service. Paul the manager was a lesson in hospitality. He was professional & very attentive. Made us feel like regulars the first time we went in. Raja made the first impression & he was incredible. Quinten took great care of us when Raja went missing after our 1st visit. We came in 3 times during our 5 day stay in Montréal. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience!!
