Really great food, super friendly staff. Cute inside & a terrace. The plates are decently sized & come with a pile of fresh fruit. The hollandaise sauce is super good & they give you a lot. You can even purchase some premade meals in the entrance as well as some wines. They have gluten free bagels on request as well. The home made raspberry lemonade is delicious & the coffee is good as well. Not a ton of menu options but what they do have is with it. Highly recommend going to this place if you are in the area, or even if you're not.
Pets are also allowed on the terrace which is a nice touch. Staff are quick & attentive.View more
Obsessed with this place!! The bagels, coffee & service were all perfect - i'll be back!View more
This is a family favourite restaurant. Self serve coffee too!View more
Honestly, be careful if you plan to go there; it'll ruin every other coffee place for ya. The only thing better than the food is the staff! Couldn't live without them now!View more
They are pet-friendly, even in the winter, which is nice (on the terasse)! Service is good, but since the concept is'unlimited coffee or tea,' you serve your own cup of coffee, & so the servers only give you your food. They're very kind, though ! The open terrasse in the winter is nice, but I wish they had it heated already. We asked the server to heat it when we arrived, but it never really got hot, & our puppy was freezing. As for the food itself, I'd say it's pricey for the quantity & quality of what you get. The bagels are good but nothing out of the ordinary. The sandwich itself is loaded, but for the price, you'd think it comes with a side or two, but it doesn't. Plus, I wanted to substitute the tomatoes for something else, but it was an extra anyway. The server was very nice in trying to help me find something that wouldn't cost too much to substitute, like peppers or onions, but I still think it shouldn't be an extra if you're replacing a veggie with another. Overall, food is okay. Service is good. The atmosphere is fine, but it could be better.View more
🥯 Update: November 2024 I've been coming to bagel St-Lo almost as long as it's been open, so I've seen it evolve over the years. In the beginning, it was a cozy, popular local bagel spot where you could expect to see the owner herself every day. It became so successful that they expanded into the space nextdoor. Even through a global pandemic, the community stepped up to keep their favourite bagel joint afloat. Today, St-Lo is a bustling brunch & breakfast restaurant & permanent fixture in Verdun that practically runs itself. Here's the thing: over the years, I've evolved too. In the beginning, I tried tons of things on the menu. Then I became vegetarian, but I still had several options. Eventually, I became vegan, & suddenly I could have only one dish on the menu. What disappoints me is that in all this time, the menu has hardly changed. Sure, they redesigned the look & feel of it, & maybe changed a few details here & there, but I guess they figure why change something that works. Today, as I sat in front of my plate, looking at the SAME flat gluten-free vegan bagel they've had for years, stuffed with the SAME arugula, hummus & Alfalfa sprouts, with a side of the SAME (but almost imperceptibly smaller) plain bell-pepper-&-lettuce salad, topped with the SAME dressing (which now makes me think of that "Svbway sandwich smell"), garnished with ONE kalamata olive & ONE cherry tomato, as usual, I started to wonder if this might be the last time I ate here for awhile. I still love St-Lo, but there's only so many times you can have the same dish without getting fed up of it. I wish they'd switch up a few menu items made with local, seasonal ingredients, like they do with their seasonal soup. Un 2e choix végane serait bien apprécié en tout cas. 🙏🏻 🗓 Original review (2020) I love Bagel St-Lo. It's one of Verdun's hidden gems. Bagel St-Lo makes the sweetest, freshest, most delicious bagels in Montreal. In my opinion, they're even better than hot St-Viateur & Fairmount bagels. I buy half a dozen St-Lo bagels almost every week; I can reheat them in the oven a week later after having kept them only in the fridge, & they taste just as fresh, which I can't say for any other bagel I've tried, fresh or day-old. Bagel St-Lo provides compostable takeout containers, paper straws & spaghetti sticks to stir your coffee. They have two self-serve coffee stations with mismatched mugs. Their black coffee is great, & I love their almond milk lattes. Bagels are incorporated into just about every dish on the breakfast, brunch & lunch menu. The restaurant has great vegetarian options & some vegan & gluten-free options. I've tried & enjoyed meals on the spot & to go, & they never disappoint. They're usually just enough for me, but someone who likes a copious breakfast might not be entirely full. The restaurant decor is eclectic & fun to look at, & the owners regularly display local artists' work. The place is really cozy & has outdoor seating in the summer. Bagel St-Lo is so popular that they acquired the space next door & expanded their restaurant, so seating has doubled. It's a big win for local diners! The new counter space is trendy but fits in well with the casual, colourful space. I love eating out on the terrasse in the summer. The wait is rarely more than 5 to 10 minutes, the table service is fast, & the staff is always very friendly. It's no wonder the place is always packed!View more
Great coffee! I got a latte & it was perfect. Love their bagels & homemade cream cheese. If you like a sweet option the blue berry cream cheese is really good. If you like savoury then I suggest the chive cream cheeseView more
A lunch spot that I have been going to for a while now. They have gluten-free bagels which I appreciate a lot. Their soup has no dairy & their coffee is good. You get to choose your cup & today this was mine 😊View more
Bagels made in house. Best option if you're too far from le plateau to get st viateur. They have sandwiches & a great eggs Benny! Drip coffee is serve yourself but very good. Lovely terrasse in the summer. Busy but good service. One of the best breakfast options in verdun.View more
I love this spot! I bring all my friends & loved ones here for brunch. Their business model is great! You order & pay, then you are served at your table within like 5-10 minutes (very impressive). The self serve coffee means you can help yourself whenever you want & you get to choose a cute mug from their wide selection. They also offer many dairy alternatives (you just have to ask for it at the counter). Their daily soup is always vegan & never fails to delight. They have gluten free bagels available. Their hollandaise sauce is to die for! Their fruits that come with the breakfast plates are always perfectly ripe! No server rushes you to leave or makes you feel pressured in any way. I've been able to sit here for quite some time just chatting away with loved ones. The decor is great, their music is varied, & the staff are super friendly 😊 They're always busy, but I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes to be seated even with a large group, & they let you enjoy coffee while you wait. I recommend this spot to anyone who loves bagels & is a fan of excellent food 👌View more
The concept of self-serve is a good idea, different from other places like it, & the food is good! The coffee was average but overall I would go back for a quick bite!View more
The eggs Benedict was delicious (with cheddar) & they have big coffee mugs you can swim insideView more

Food is alright. Service is good. Coffee is terrible.View more
All around, this place is a 3.5 star for me. Food is good & location is convenient for many living locally. I had the eggs Benedict with salmon & a macadamia latté for to 32$ with the 15% tip. Nothing particularly special as far as culinary delights. Coffee was a little watered down & I asked for a bit of butter for my naked half bagel & they gave me margarine. I also ordered one of their hash browns & had a very heavy oil flavour & possibly deep fried a couple times. A nice portion of fruit on the plate may depend if they are fresh. They have a different approach to serving you from behind the counter but the service is good & fast. This little spot has their own urban style. If you want to order anything, you have to do so from the counter & from there they bring your food to your table number. Family friendly especially if you are a small family as it isn't a big place.View more
This is one cozy place to have a fresh bite. The coffee is one of my favorite in Verdun, bagels are always delicious. Service with a smile. The corner spot by the windows with cushions is perfect for reading/studying or just look at the rain fall on a lazy Sunday. A must go to place in Verdun.View more

The food is delicious. Prices are very good for the portions. The service is amazing & the atmosphere, except for the loud music that makes you speak louder than usual, is very trendy. A great spot to enjoy a delicious coffee & a bagel 🥯😋.View more
What a wonderful surprise :The Bagel St-Lo Verdun takes casual dining to new heights! The staff make you feel welcome immediatly in a very genuine manner, & they have every kind of seating arrangement you could wish, both indoors & out. On this sunny August day I wanted to stay outdoors! They have two terraces which have just the right ambiance for both seeing the world go by & for private chats between friends or business dealings alike. The food was excellent, beautifully presented & the coffee both delightful (pick your own cup -serve yourself ;) & delicious. The whole place humms along with professional expertise, creating an ambiance of good humour with ease. This might just be the perfect café: Long may they thrive !View more
