First thing: the burger is not drowned in sauce. No overcompensating, no mess for the sake of mess. It doesn't rely on sauce the way a lot of places do, which means the meat actually has to carry its weight-& it does. Very well prepared, with something going on that we couldn't quite identify. Maybe it's the seasoning, maybe the technique, maybe just solid quality beef. Whatever it is, it's good.
They also have a gluten-free bun option, which is always a nice touch.
We paired it with a @messorembracitorium beer, which, as expected, was a good idea. & we had to have the cookies-massive ones from @paquebot_cafe, which we already love, so that's an easy win.
The seating is slightly confusing. The tables are low-like, tea-room low-which makes eating a burger feel like a bit of a posture exercise. Not exactly built for this type of food.
Overall, it's a simple smash burger. Nothing life-changing, not trying to reinvent the wheel-but solid. & in an area without many nearby smash burger options, it's definitely a decent spot to have in the rotation
Very good burgers & friendly staff. All the ingredients are Canadian, & the menu is simple, which I really like. We had both the chicken & beef burgers, & they were equally good.
The fries are great too. I usually add salt, but these were already perfectly seasoned with what seems like a house spice blend. The sauce served with the fries is also excellent. They add capers, which makes it stand out.
I think it's incredible value, especially considering the passion behind what is essentially a burger & fries concept.
As for the seating, I initially found the low tables a bit unusual, but it ended up creating a relaxed, almost at-home feeling, like having a burger with friends.
Overall, I really enjoyed it & would definitely recommend it. Great job.

Excellent du début à la fin. Honnêtement, j'aurais mis 15 étoiles si c'était possible. La musique, la déco, le service, tout était vraiment réussi. & surtout, les burgers sont incroyablement bons. En parlant avec le propriétaire, j'ai appris que les produits sont locaux ou issus du circuit court autant que possible, que ce soit pour la viande, les sauces maison ou même le pain. Ça se sent immédiatement au goût. Une adresse que je recommande sans hésiter à Montréal.
Excellent burgers !! Un point en plus pour les frites accompagnées de leur sauce qui sont délicieuse ! L'ambiance est chaleureuse. Juste un petit point, les burgers sont peut être un peu difficile à manger sur les petites tables mais à part ce petit détail, nous avons passé un excellent moment !
Tried this fairly new spot in Montreal after seeing really promising reviews. I ordered the smash chicken, the smash burger, & fries.
Starting with the positives: the fries were great - could've been a touch crispier, but overall solid. The dipping sauce was a little tangy for my taste, but I actually ended up enjoying it.
The smash chicken… I'm still not sure how I feel about smashed chicken as a concept. Flavor-wise, it just didn't hit for me & felt slightly off. The smash burger was similar - if it weren't for the sauce, it would've been pretty meh. The bacon also wasn't cooked to my liking. I know it's a thicker cut (so it won't be super crispy), but it still felt undercooked & that threw me off.
I'll also mention that I didn't feel great after the meal. I had been fasting for about a day & a half beforehand, so that could've contributed, but it's still worth noting.
Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it didn't wow me either. I usually try a place twice before making a final decision, so I'll probably give it another shot. There's definitely potential here.

Super bon burger 🍔, la sauce des frites est à tomber !! Plein d'options de breuvage ( avec alcool) & l'endroit est vraiment sympa pour se poser entre amis ou en famille . Belle adresse à connaitre au Plateau 😎

Honnêtement, un des meilleurs smash burger en ville. Les frites maison étaient excellentes & que dire de la sauce. C'est un nouveau coup de coeur pour moi !
